Anthony Munoz nailed it an interview recently.
He mentioned 4 quarterbacks:
Ken - Boomer - Carson - Andy
"If I was Andy Dalton, I'd be walking out with my head held high."

So Burrow himself was being "absurd" in spring of 2018 when he talked about starting for OSU that fall?
This is not even worth my time anymore.

Getting an undergrad degree did not end Burrow's scholarship. It ended when he quit the team to go to LSU.
His enrollment at Ohio State ended two days before your article was written because he graduated. Thus he was no longer an Ohio State student. And as you just admitted he couldn't play for Ohio State if he wasn't enrolled as a student . . . which he wasn't because he graduated.

Also, I don't know Breech nor am I Breech nor have I ever communicated with Breech outside of open thread conversation. Never even PM'd the guy. He's clearly just another genius out here preaching the gospel of truth: If Carson "quit", so did Dalton.
Without getting into the "quit" discussion I will say, both situations have strong similarities from this point of view. The Bengals' management's goals and actions did not align with the qb's goals and actions and both qb's decided that they will not continue under the current status quo. Details might be different, but ultimately that's what the situation was. Neither qb was willing to give up on his own objectives in order to put the team's objectives above his own. I'm not saying that makes the QB a lesser person, simply that that's what it was. There may be cases where a qb or another player put the team's objectives over his own, and demonstrated it at some time in the NFL or other leagues. Put those guys up on the pedestal. In this case, that does not apply.

Burrow redshirted in 2015 thus giving him an extra year of eligibility. Because of this he could still play with OSU in 2018 I believe.

He graduated early so the redshirt year gave him 2 years of eligibility instead of just one. He had eligibility. You are absolutely right. I'm not calling that into question. But, in order to play he had to be a student athlete, not just an athlete. Once he graduated he was no longer an OSU student (or on a OSU football scholarship) and thus couldn't play because he had completed his course of study. Unless he enrolled as graduate student which he didn't do with OSU. He enrolled as a graduate student athlete with LSU and played out his remaining two years of eligibility while on scholarship with LSU.
Fred already knows all of this.

I think Fred's point is if Burrow had decided to stay at OSU as a grad student that he would still be under scholarship. When he transferred to LSU is when the OSU scholarship ended. Fred feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.

3. Just like Carson he demanded a release after his replacement was drafted, what a baby
4. At least with Carson we got a few draft picks
5. Carson was a real team player and stuck around into the season deep enough until there was a QB injury so the Bengals could maximize his value, what a selfless high character move.
Dalton = worse than Carson. I better see folks burning Dalton jersey's all over the place cause this is some shameful stuff going down.

I hope this is a joke.
If not then this is some serious clown shit.

He was not under contract and was free to leave after graduating. Andy Dalton asked to be traded and leave the Bengals while inder contract and asked for his release. That's quitting and is not = to Burrow graduating and then transferring to pursue an undergrad degree at a different school. The scholar ship & eligibility rules are that way for a reason because of the structure of college football. To equate that to NFL contracts.... wait for it..... wait for it.... absurdity.

I dunno... I know he head-butted her, and she was cut from it. I don't know if that was her though. I couldn't find the post to find the context. That's a nasty ***** gash though.

If you are going to claim Dalton was afraid to compete for a starting position then you have to admit Burrow was also.
Personally I think it is childish to label either of them a quitter.

Then their is a ton of quitter qbs out there.
Mayfield
Fromm
Fields
Just to name a couple that have already done it. Hell I guess all JUCO transfers are quitters to.
For the NCAACF 2020 we have
Jamie Newman. Wake to Georgia
D'Eriq King, Houston to Miami Hurricanes
K.J. Costello, Stanford to Miss State
Feleipe Frank's, Florida to Arkansas
Payton Ramsey, Indiana to Northwestern
Jake Bentley, S. Carolina to Utah
Chase Brice, Clemson to Duke
Phil Jurkovec, ND to BC
Joey Gatewood, Auburn to KY
And many more, seems a whole bunch of "quitting" going on.
For reference. I dont view any of them as quitters. CP, AD etc.
Only gripe about AD is there is no market for him and I feel he should have worked.oyt a back up role here and waited til next year to try FA. Qbs not on a team for a year have very low luck getting another chance.

Let me show you what the great defense attorney fredtoast had to say about speculation:
(05-02-2020, 11:20 AM)fredtoast Wrote: You can't say that for certain. Duh.
Now let me show you what your source stated:
Quote:While Ohio State hasn't made an announcement on who its starting quarterback will be, Burrow's decision to transfer likely means the starter will be Haskins, the presumed frontrunner for the starting job after he led Ohio State to a comeback win at Michigan as the No. 2 quarterback last season. That said, the Buckeyes could opt to wait and see how Haskins and Martell perform in fall camp before officially naming a starter.
As a matter of fact, Ohio State didn’t announce a starter at QB until almost 6 weeks after Burrow announced he was going to LSU as a graduate transfer.

Quote:If you are going to claim Dalton was afraid to compete for a starting position then you have to admit Burrow was also.
Let me again show you what your source had to say a second time since apparently you’re not reading your own sources:
Quote:Burrow competed with Dwayne Haskins and Tate Martell for Ohio State's starting quarterback job this spring
“Competed”. Past tense. As in he did that. So, no, I don’t have to admit Burrow was afraid to do what your source clearly states he did, in fact, do.
Quote:Personally I think it is childish to label either of them a quitter
Cool, show me where I called Dalton a quitter.
