Dont remember this game at all probably because I never thought Burrow was going to be our franchise QB. Fast forward to the 11:45 mark for the play that turned Joe Burrow's career around. For those who ever doubted his toughness or whatever this should answer your doubts. Meaningless Fiesta bowl matchup vs a non power 5 conference. Usually during these matchups the power 5 schools hardly ever care and many seniors sit out. Guessing Burrow was asked if he was good to go and he continued. Rest is history. Great video all together if you have time to watch.

The Fiesta Bowl is one of the biggest bowl games there is. It's a New Years game, or part of the "Six". There is nothing "meaningless" about it, unless you consider every single game that is not the National Championship meaningless.
Describing an undefeated UCF team, who was ranked 7th and 8th in both polls, as simply a non power 5 conference team is incredibly insulting and IMHO ill-informed. That non power 5 team had won 25 games in a row. The previous year they went undefeated at 13-0 and beat #7 Aurburn in the Peach Bowl. (Translation - They were a legitimate top 10 team)
Your last sentence is pure bs. What the hell are you talking about? Since when do Power 5 schools hardly care about New Years bowl games? This is news to me. And "many seniors sit out"??? Um, no. Just no. Please give examples of teams who had multiple seniors sit out for these level of games.
I don't think you know the difference between the Fiesta Bowl and the Meineke Car Care Bowl.

Finally had the time to sit down and watch this, thanks for sharing! That hit he took was nasty and the dude rubbing it in didn’t help either. The one thing consistent about Joe is that he responds well to adversity. I hope that translates over because it seems like the Bengals have always met a ton of adversity. He’s the type of guy that can change a culture and I’m thinking that is what he will do for us. Hoping so!

Where have you been the last 5 years? Its playoffs or bust for these major colleges competing for national championships every year. Yes the top NFL prospects have chosen to sit out these games to prep themselves for the NFL. They absolutely don't want to risk injuries for a game that might of been big in the past but definitely not now.

Unless you can provide specifics and examples for this Fiesta bowl game with UCF and LSU, I believe your comments are hyperbole and too broad. Players play football and your claim my happen but doesn’t happen in every case. Also the attitude about teams outside of the “Power 5” conferences are very irritating. UCF is one hell of a football program and the comments make me question how much you do follow college football

McCaffery sat on a bowl game vs. an 8-5 unranked North Carolina team. Fournette sat on a non New Years Six game vs. Louisville. And it later came out he was coming off an injury. And they were both top 10 picks.
The first list has a grand total of 21 guys over 4 seasons. 3 of them were suspended. And only 5 total sat out a New Year's game. The vast majority were playing in lesser bowl games.
Do some guys sit out bowl games? Yeah, of course. We've seen that more often as of late. Do "many" seniors not even play? No, the overwhelming majority (like 99%) of them choose to play in their respective bowls.
The Fiesta bowl is not some meaningless game, and UCF wasn't just some no-name non Power 5 program. That was a #7 vs. #8 matchup, which I guarantee both schools, players, and coaches cared about greatly.
You can't label that game as one where "many seniors don't even play" and as "meaningless". Neither of those things are remotely true.

I didn't label anything, I just posted the lists of seniors sitting out Bowl Games during their senior year.

Fwiw, I'm wasn't referring to you, just to where the discussion started. (That many seniors don't even play in bowl games and that the game was meaningless.)

I'd still take a healthy in his prime Palmer over any QB we've had.

Thanks for this Jhowdy. Joe is one tough sumbitch to take that hit and come back in that game and beat A&M. When you watch his
2018 season it was a good season but that play like you said pushed him to his greatness. He just got lit up and then proceeded to
light up the entire SEC the next year. Hopefully he lights up the AFC North the same for the next 10+ years.
