I know everyone will say that "close does not matter", but everyone from media analysts to the sportsbooks look at a lot of things other than just Win/Loss record to judge which teams are best.

So far the Bengals have been outscore by only 8 points. There are 13 teams in the NFL that have been outscored by more.

Our team is not good, but it is not the complete pile of shit that some people claim. In fact, despite playing an entire extra overtime period our defense is on the top half of the league (14th) in scoring defense.

Our opponents this week, Jacksonville, have been outscored by 14 points and thy are allowing opposing QBs to complete 80% of their passes and compil a passer rating of 118.1. Meanwhile the Bengals pass defense is #4 in the league allowing a passer rating of 77.9.

Didn’t the team just set the all time record for most losses by fewer than one score?

Heard a pretty odd/concerning stat the other day. The Bengals under ZT are 1-11-1 when winning the turnover battle. That just shouldn’t happen.

I keep harping on the run game ineffectiveness, both on offense and defense. Being able to run the ball and stop the run (they are struggling big time at both right now) on a much more consistent basis will change a lot of things, including the outcomes of some of these close games. Former Bengals coach Jonathan Hayes said it perfectly:

“If you can’t stop the run, and you can’t run the ball, you’re not going to have a lot of success in this league."

I think partially 2 of the solutions are on the team and need to get healthy XSF and Geno

wait , is entry into the playoffs based on point differential now?

Just wait until they start playing real teams. Are they going to keep within 1 score of Pitt and Baltimore? We'll see about all of that.
