I was off by a lot too.My prediction was 38-0 Steelers. This Bengals team played at a level of Intensity and Physicallity that I have not seen this year.Of course the media just keeps talking about how bad the Steelers were, but I think the Bengals also had something to do with that.Best Tackling I’ve seen from this defense all year.Entertaining game.

Yes, first time in a long time we saw the Bengals out physical the Stoolers.

I think my prediction was 28-0 or 28-3. I dont blame any of them, especially with Finley at QB. Who knew Finley was going to run the way he did and our defense was going to play a physical game for all 4 quarters? Amazing. Glad it happened on MNF!

The real bet was Bengals and the 14.5 points for $100.

A lot of people made that bet and won. I did not see a betting line (looked at 6 sites) with an option to bet Bengals win by 9.5, 10 would be a loser.
But, I will eat my crow, I thought they would maul us, embarrass us, but in the on MNF, Bengals won Steeler style and our OL mauled their DL, Our DL mauled their OL.
Now, back to losing next week so we keep the 3rd pick., A win and we could go to 7th in a hurry.
I am so ready for 2024 season. I love pro football and hoping for a great Bengals year. Regardless, always remember it is a game and entertainment.

We have 2 wins against a team in our division in a span of 5 years...why don't we just go dance on the Steelers' logo while we are at it?
EDIT - Oh I see, we were supposed to lose "by a lot" to the Steelers. Hell, I know the game is over and we won but I still feel like we could lose it, that's how used to losing to the Steelers I am.

I'll eat crow on this one also. I didn't see anyway the Bengals could even cover the -14.5.
But our O-line didn't maul anyone. We had 230 yards of offense, and our 3 first half scoring drives covered a combined 68 yards.
Our RBs averaged 3.3 per carry.
ProFootballReference credits the Steelers with 6 QB hits (knocking QB to ground after pass attempts) and 2 sacks on just 13 pass attempts. Even taking into account the Steelers #1 ranked pass rush those are horrible numbers. Pittsburgh is leading the league in sacks by getting one every ten attempts, and they did much better than that against us with 1 every 6.5.
Twenty percent of our total offense was rushing yards by Ryan Finley.
Roethlisberger played like he was hungover the first half and we ended up winning the turnover ratio 3 to 0. Our O-line looked better in run blocking, but still not really impressive. And they got chewed up by the pass rush.

Over/under on the numbers of posts in the game day thread that contained some version of this?

Hahahahah, CLASSIC! Pretty sure I know that feeling... is the game over? Did they really win? Is the NFL scheming to retroactively overturn the result? I mean, they can't have the Steelers losing... that's bad for business!

I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop... even after the FG to go up by 10 with less than a min remaining.

Well said.
I get that people are giddy because of beating the Squealers, and it was fun to watch, but this team still has a shitload of issues, and the coaching staff is still one of the biggest issues. The o-line still needs at least a couple major upgrades, and even though the D looked good last night, they are way too inconsistent. It was a nice win in another wasted season, but it means nothing to the overall state of things.

Yeah, they've had some good zingers on their Twitter feed, but some of the attempts to hype this team post-Burrow have also been pretty sad.

No reasonable football fan saw this coming except maybe those in the Bengals locker room. I enjoyed the Bengals embarrassing the Steelers in National Prime Time. Taylor accomplished more with less than anything Marvin Lewis accomplished against the Steelers. It is Taylor's signature victory.
I still do not forgive Taylor for playing calling and decisions that I feel at least in part, led to the Burrow injury.

This sort of leads me to the discussion that I mentioned earlier about not having better balance with the rushing attack earlier in the season. The Bengals would run 3-4 times in the beginning of a game, and even in situations where it worked fairly well, they still abandon it and air it out as thought ZT said: "Ok, we are warmed up...let's start playing now".
Those early runs that yield 2-3 yards often become 4-6 yard runs later in the game. Most importantly, with the exception of Jonah Williams, every one of the offensive linemen were rated significantly better at run blocking than pass blocking. Playing with more balance would have kept opposing defenses from teeing off on Burrow. Joe with more play action and against defenses that played with no concern for the run at all? Yes, please.
The second half of the 2019 season showed the Bengals capable of putting together a solid rushing attack. That never really returned this season. All this just raises more questions for me about the coaching of the line and the decisions in the play selection.
Your points here are dead on, though. I never thought they would even get 1 YPC against that defensive front. When you factor in the QB rushes, the entire team averaged 3.7 YPC. Not too shabby given their absolute fear of letting Finley throw the ball. It was like a polar opposite of their normal pass-happy offense. My wish it that the two would meet somewhere more in the middle.
Maybe they were trying to evaluate Burrow's strengths, etc? Perhaps. They invested in Mixon and I feel like they will have invested in the offensive line before 2021. I wish for a better balance in the offense moving forward.
