1 Penei Sewell OT, Oregon
2 Shaun Wade CB, Ohio State
3 Carlos Basham Jr. EDGE, Wake Forest
4 Rashad Weaver EDGE, Pittsburgh
5 Ar'Darius Washington S, TCU
6 Amari Rodgers WR, Clemson
7a Marquez Stevenson WR, Houston
7b Landon Young OT, Kentucky
I went in expecting to take a defensive player in round one (Micah Parsons or Pat Surtain) but Sewell was still there so, easy pick. Shaun Wade was the BPA for round 2 and I am of the can't have too many good corners school, though he is primarily a slot corner and we really should make every effort to retain WJIII in addition (though I'm really not sure about what to do with Trae Waynes at this moment).
Defensive end is a need and in Basham you get a 3 down player with a great swim move. He needs to work on run defense but he's still a player that we're lucky to get in the 3rd round (again he was the BPA and projected as a mid-second round pick from the TDN boards). Rashad Weaver was once considered to have 1st round potential but due to injury and a lackluster final year has fallen to the 4th. It could very well be the case he just needs more time to recover. He is still an excellent weak side run stopper and was 3rd in the nation this year with 14.5 tackles for losses in only 9 games.
Ar'Darius Washington - Smaller, rangier safety so at first you wouldn't think he would replace Shawn Williams but I believe he can play both spots.
Amari Rodgers - Potential punt returner
Marquez Stevenson - Speed WR, replaces John Ross
Landon Young - Even with Sewell I'm not satisfied with our depth at tackle on the OL. Fred Johnson hasn't impressed. Young is a road grader and could be rotated in when we have the lead and want to pound the rock (think about all the games we had leads in at the half this year). His pass pro needs work and you wouldn't want to rely on him to replace a starter right away, but in the long term could be a decent backup.

Ran the PFN simulator a few times. Sewell was there a couple of times but for the most part Miami nabbed him. BPA for us was Parsons or Chase.
Everything in this post is my fault.

I ran another TDN since the regular season is now officially over. Got Sewell again. I like this one less. Might consider Nico Collins (WR) in the 3rd round instead of the EDGE rusher I took pending Nico's times at the combine. I think he is faster than Auden Tate but slower then AJ Green (in his prime) but the question is, which one is he closer to? Also considered TE Jeremy Ruckert in the 5th but our need for DEs is greater than our need for TEs (even if we re-sign Lawson, which I'd say is essential).
1 Penei Sewell OT, Oregon
2 Creed Humphrey IOL, Oklahoma TDN said this is a good value pick but I could be talked out of it.
3 Quincy Roche EDGE, Miami
4 Talanoa Hufanga S, USC In a draft loaded with Safeties, Hufanga is a good value who will replace Shawn Williams.
5 Elerson Smith EDGE, Northern Iowa
6 Palaie Gaoteote IV LB, USC - May need some coaching to have discipline to not overrun ball, but shows flashes of talent
7a Marquez Stevenson WR, Houston
7b Dicaprio Bootle CB, Nebraska - Rotational corner, excels at batting passes downs but doesn't get INTs.

Yet another no trade TDN
Cap space: 45m
After draft and saving 10m for injury signings: 25m
FA
Cut Geno Atkins (free up additional 10m): 35m in cap
Sign Lawson for 12m/year x4 years
Sign WJII for 8m/year x4 years
Sign either Brandon Scherff or Joe Thuney for ~15m/year x3 years
I went primarily defensive here. I feel like our offensive line is close enough that one big signing (as seen above) could make the difference there.
1. Caleb Farley CB, Virginia Tech
2. Nick Bolton LB, Missouri
3. Carlos Basham Jr. EDGE, Wake Forest
4. Tyler Shelvin IDL, LSU
5. Joshuah Bledsoe S, Missouri
6. Malcolm Koonce EDGE, Buffalo
7a. Marquez Stevenson WR, Houston
7b. Marco Wilson CB, Florida

For no particular reason, I actually like this mock! It's out of the box thinking....

I agree. Only changes I may make is if you're resigning WJ3 I would take Pitts in round 1 and Jaylen Twyman in rd3-4. He gives me hybrid aaron donald/geno vibes. Got to build trenches big time this offseason. I'd grab a late round CB probably 1 of the 2 from oregon

I think Darrisaw is my favorite OT in this draft. The reason is, because he hasn't reached his ceiling yet.

Leatherwood looked bad at the Senior Bowl. McNeil is currently getting 1st round grades.
