Indoor practice facility...They have one...is it a full field? No, but quit saying that they do not have one. There is one at PBS and UC that they use when it is necessary, which is really not that often.

There is one at PBS and UC that they use when it is necessary, which is really not that often. Calling that thing they have at PBS an indoor facility is absolutely ridiculous. It's a converted basketball court with astroturf on it. It's probably between 25-35 yards long and between 15-25 feet wide. It also has lowered ceilings. Picture standing on a basketball court (I'm sure we've all been on one before). Now picture that court being filled with at 80 grown men on it, many of which are extemely large. (53 man Roster + 10 man practice squad + the 17 coaches that are listed on the Bengals website + misc staff) If you picture that setting you'll quickly realize having any semblence of practice there is absolutely absured. You couldn't even participate in a walkthrough. You can't punt, you can't kick, you can drop back more than 5 yards and throw it more than 15 without running the risk of your receiver running into a wall. That's gotta be used for position groups, or for less than 20 people at a time, going through the most basic of drills and moves. Just to put into complete perspective, it's so small yyou can't even time the 40 yard dash in it. As far as UC, I think it's interesting use the word "necessary", "that they hey can use it when it's necessary". What do you deem as necessary? Is it only snow? Is it cold? It it rain? When exactly is it necessary? Fwiw, my buddy used to work in UC's athletic department. He told me a couple of years ago that if he had to guess the Bengals had used UC's bubble less than a dozen times in the years since it had been built (would have neen about 7 years at this point). So they rarely use it. You should know too that UC's bubble isn't just available at the Bengals beckon call. UC isn't going to ever move one of their own programs out to accomidate the Bengals. If it's scheduled to be used by any of their sports teams then you're SOL if wanna try to book it. To recap, the Bengals basically have a 30 yard long putt-putt hole at PBS that isn't an indoor facility. And UC has a facility, not the Bengals. Although they have let the Bengals rent it a few times over the years. Quit trying to make excuses for them.

Yeah, Burrow alone makes players excited to come here. Dude had the greatest season for a QB in college football history and followed it up with record breaking yardage stats before he went down with injury and did it behind a sieve of an OL. My hope is the coaches, namely Zac and Lou improve big time. They can, it is not impossible. Zac is young and Lou is only in his 3rd year as a DC and has had tons of injuries on his side of the ball. Have to start winning games though and most notably the close ones as we just lose them under Zac. We start winning the close ones and things will start to look up. Losing close games is a sign of bad coaching. The Chiefs won all their close games last year pretty much while we lost them all.

The OTR area is awesome with all kinds of restaurants, bars, breweries, etc. Downtown area has some awesome restaurants as well, and The Banks area between the two stadiums is a good time. My brother used to live in the apartments at The Banks and several Reds and Bengals players lived there. The casino is downtown also. There is plenty to do in the city, and it has been ranked a top travel destination in the US by many different publications, plus it's extremely affordable. It's been a year since Covid and yeah it might be building up some but still just doesn't scream "COME HERE! IT'S LOADS OF FUN!" IMCO. The Banks is building up and the bars and restaurants downtown and in OTR have always been a good time but nothing that made a person want to come to Cincinnati. I'm hoping that Zac and Lou grow as coaches and coach to the team's strengths but, like I said, I'm so conditioned from Marvin and Mike that I don't have high hopes. Facts don't care about your feelings. BIG THANKS to Holic for creating that gif!

We can only wait and see but Burrow should give us all hope and we added a good RT to protect him and we have added some good players to the Defense and the Draft could bring us some very good players. I liked our FA and Draft last Offseason and so far this Offseason has been good. High hopes is my favorite Pink Floyd song BTW.

In high school in Covington, when the weather got too bad, sometimes we practiced at an indoor soccer field next to our high school that was a lot better than our "indoor practice field," and that wasn't even an adequate space for our high school team. Right now coaching staff has shown little to nothing in that reguard. Front office is spending but really just replacing at the moment. So right now Fans arent even that excited cant imagine a free agent would be., I do think a few of the players like Burrow will do much to attract a coach if we end up looking again.

He chose to accept a below market contract to play here. Of course he has made the big bucks before in his career. But still I know PFF isn't gospel, but here was OT ranking for Trent Williams and Riley Reiff. Williams - 1st OT (91.9 grade) Reiff - 38th OT (71.4 grade) So the reason for the discrepancy is due to the level of their performance compared to the other OTs in the league.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive. Sorry for Party Rocking!

Been hearing about this issue forever it seems and I cant fathom that an NFL team doesnt have the $ to build one. What does a legit practice bubble cost? 1M or less? thats peanuts to what NFL teams rake in.

Meh, people who aren't pro athletes consider professional sports to be "games." Toss gifted busts like Johhny Manzel, Ryan Leaf, and Jamarcus Russel into that pile, too. I sure hope Joe Burrow doesn't think football is a kids game, or at least he thinks of it as the type of kiddie game that requires years of discipline and hard work beyond the scope of 99%+ of the public. I get where you are coming from, though. Lord knows when I learned my first guitar chord I started wondering where I'd put all my platinum albums. |
