Planning around the DL in the draft
#1
Our shot caller claims that you can find starting OL in the 2nd and 3rd. If this becomes the plan, outside of a trade or solid DL falling to the 4th we need to prepare to neglect the line via draft. Outside of trading a pick for a vet, the FA market is an option. We are currently at a standstill with both teams and vets waiting to see the fit after the draft.

I propose that if they believe Chase or Pitts is the pick then you start calling guys like Melvin Ingram, Justin Houston and Oliver Vernon now. They're waiting to see where the contenders are, but maybe you turn the guaranteed money up on a one year deal and one bites. I'd rather do that than be locked out of a rotational pass rusher until June cuts.

This year's DL class isn't as lean, especially with other teams drafting need. I'd rather be proactive making calls even if nobody bites.
