who was the better WR?
#61
I just want to be clear that I in no way intend any disrespect to AJ. He's a Bengals legend for sure. Imo, the MVP of those 2011-2015 teams. It's kinda like a Jordan vs LeBron debate. Just because Jordan was clearly better doesn't mean LeBron isn't a top 5 all-time great.

It's hard not to point out weaknesses when comparing two greats. It's just the nature of the debate. For example, when discussing Bron vs MJ, you have to point out that Bron has fewer rings, 9 fewer scoring titles, no DPOY, etc in more years played.

That doesn't mean you "hate" LeBron. It's just that when you compare greats, one of them is going to have a better resume, and that should be pointed out.

But was he? Chad took a Bengals team that was absolutely nothing from the 90s that nobody ever nationally talked about or cared about, and put them on the national news every single week. First from his great play, then his great play and antics, and then admittedly later just his antics.

Either way, he was the best WR in the NFL for a few years there and brought the team into relevancy. Even now he's still around here and there online and on the news supporting the Bengals and their players. The Bengals draft Higgins, and who talks to him? Chad.

Yep. We get mad at legends like Collinsworth and Boomer for "not supporting the Bengals enough", then get mad at Chad for promoting the Bengals ("it's all about him"). Wacky.

Fans of other teams who know nothing about the Bengals still know Chad was a Bengal. He was a superstar player, and yet he still loves the Bengals. There's no reason to hate the guy besides it getting a little silly at the very end. Big whoop. If Packers fan can forgive Brett for suiting up in purple, why can't we forgive Chad for wrestling an alligator?
