I've said it already, there's a reason we need our RB's and TE's to block so much (and it's hopefully not to blame them on not being able to protect Burrow)..... Then we cry that our TE's aren't being used as pass catchers to take advantage of the middle of the field, our rb's are under utilized. The line can't even pick up 3rd and very shorts. This is a problem that people have ignored in their quest to declare the line fixed.

I think anyone saying the line is "fixed" is overstating. It's better but still needs work. The 3rd and short stuff is on the insistence of running it up the gut too much when it's just not working. The PFF article on Zac evolving goes into the lack of any imagination there.

This isn't really as legit of an argument as people think (not to be rude). We hit 27 or more points 5 times in our first 8 games of 2020. This without Chase and a bad Oline.
We've only scored 27 once in 5 games this season with Chase.
Let's take a moment to let that sink in.
Fix the line and all else will fall into place. I may be the only person left who believes an elite QB can make a wideout.

The reason i ask is, if you take a line of Williams, Spain, Hopkins, Carman, Reiff and make it (one example),
Slater, Spain, Hopkins, Reiff, Williams, how much better are they going to be than the line that has given up the 2nd least pressures? The running game has been better, while underused and not schemed well with motion and whatnot. But you've taken away all the production that Chase has this year and replace it with...?...from a 2nd rd WR.
Not probably. Is.

But it is interesting that celebrating Sewell's struggles has forced folks to take shots at Pollack.
I don't recall seeing a chart. I know the only stop Pollack has taken over as OL coach where his group gave up less sacks than the previous year was his previous stop here in Cinci.
He seems to be a middle of the road NFL OL Coach. He's been steadily employed as an OL coach over the past 7 seasons, but not on any top staffs. A step up from Turner, certainly. But not a top tier, hire. He's been OL coach under Dennis Allen, Jason Garrett, Marvin Lewis, Adam Gase, and now Zac Taylor, not exactly a who's who of top guys.
.
Nobody is taking shots at him by "celebrating Sewell's struggles". People are pointing out he can't turn water into wine because some people still can't come to grips with the fact that they botched their draft analysis on Sewell in regard to him being a major, immediate upgrade. And it's silly, because everyone botches draft evaluations. Guys making 7-8 figures a year to make personnel decisions for NFL teams botch them. Everyone on these boards botches them, myself included. People act like they are personally attacked if someone mentions Sewell sucks or they're glad we took Chase over Sewell.
I will say that I will definitely "celebrate Sewell's struggles" this Sunday and hope he struggles all game long.

Fore sure. Bates has taken a slight step back this season. Burrow has been really good, but had the clunker against Chicago, and needs to clean up the INT’s. Mixon has been excellent when he’s actually in there, but injuries are really starting to become a thing with him. Logan Wilson has had some great games, but also some not so great (Green Bay). Jonah and Spain are both playing extremely well, but not quite as dominant as Chase. Awuzie, Reader, and Hendrickson are all up there, too, but I’m going with Chase right now. He’s literally having the best start for a WR rookie season since Randy Moss. But at an even younger age.

Who's saying the line is fixed, though? Seriously? People keep "reminding" us that the line still needs fixed as if there are tons of people saying the line is fixed or fine. No doubt it's improved but who are these people saying the line is fixed?

Uhh, that picture is fake. How would both a Bengals WR and a Giants WR have a ball at the same time? FAKE NEWS!!!

I'd like to see more bombs to Ja'marr outside of 2 minute drills at the end of half's.
During out big offensive seasons. Palmer used to hit Henry or Chad on bombs within the first couple plays of the game. Set the tone early.

Ja'Maar is the best rookie wr the Bengals have had. You can't even dispute it at this point....

That's ridiculous... All 4 of his TDs are from 30 plus yards out too. My jaw literally dropped on that play he was later ruled down by contact. Fresh off the 70 yard TD, I texted my buddies back in Columbus... This ******' guy.

So far he's one of the best rookie wideouts ever. Right up there with Moss and Boldin. Guess you'd have to put Jefferson up there too with all the yardage.

He has a short TD from his 2 TD game against the spueelers. The first one was so nice you forget the short 1. Think He has 5 total Tds. Which ranks 2nd in 5 games for a rookie..

Correct. But those stats are for 20+ yard passes. All of his 20+ yard targets are actually 30+ yards.

It's crazy how this team was so bad at the deep ball and now that's what has won games.. That's speaks Volumes considering every Deep ball TD has went to Ja'Maar and no one else. He literally came in and turned a weakness into the strongest part of the offense..

Hopefully, when Tee gets back into the swing, the coverage Ja'Marr is getting will open things up for him deep.

You would think Ja'Maar is about to get doubled a lot.. Burrow is gonna have to hit on the few 1 on 1- JaMaar is gonna get.. Joe has missed him deep a few times or JaMaar would be smashing records..
