They had to cut down to 85 by tomorrow didn't they?

Then need to go down to 80 after the next game.

How the heck is Vogel still employed after that performance Saturday. He obviously just doesn’t have it at all.

We need OL to play and get experience as we rest OL who make the 53 man roster. He probably survives cut to 80 next week also.

2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

We need numbers along the OL to practice & play the games. Johnson is hurt. Williams & Reiff are going to play very limited snaps. Smith is taking a lot if snaps at guard. Adeniji is already out. That leaves Prince and him at OT.  I guess Carman could play out there, but he needs the work transitiining to OG.

We have a ton of WRs: Boyd, Chase, Higgins, Tate, Thonas, Taylor, Irwin, Morgan, Washington. Plus Pooka & Evans split out there. Ditto TEs.

You don't remember Augustus Parrish, do you?

Candidates for the next 5:

1. Shurmur or Dungey (QBs)
2. Another TE (O'Grady, Wilcox)
3. Chrisman (unless we want a P on PS)
4. OL: Galliard (G/C) or Vogel (OT) or Sutherland (G/C)
5. Godsil (unless we want a LS on the PS)
6. Keandre Jones (LB)
7. Seibert (K) (unless we think we can PS him)
8. CB: Antonio Phillips or Donnie Lewis
9. DL: Akinmoladun or McKenzie

I'd #6 TE (O'Grady), #4 QB (Dungey), worst remaining CB (A. Phillips and Lewis), and Jones at LB (Bachie was good). Perhaps OL or specialist goes.

Yeah, I suspect Wahington, Morgan, Pooka are toast next cut. Also Eric Dungey at QB, Traveon Williams at RB, O' Grady at TE, Donnie Lewis at CB are easy cuts. After that, it gets dicey.

Siebert and Chrisman will be among the final cuts. I would not be surprised to see Chrisman placed on IR in order to stash him for next year.

Stanley Morgan is another who won't go until the end. His special teams play will keep him in the running for a potential 7th WR spot

Godsil retired back in June

Shurmur vs Dungey for PS QB will probly go all 3 games.

Thanks for the Godsil info. I remember it now. The roster page I looked at had him on it, I figured he changed his mind (Harris cannot play forever).

XenoMorph also makes a good point about the QB3 competition.

I do hope we try to stash Chrisman somehow. I think having a punter or kicker (or both) on the PS can help. 53 + 16 = 69. 16 cuts from here. Only 5 after next game. Assuming there will be more movement between teams in guys cut & PS than last year when basically the PS was all your own cuts.

No surprises here. Trayveon looks on the outside looking in too with how good Patrick and Evans are playing.

We need to keep Bachie is all I am saying at this time, he looked great Saturday.

Trayveon just can't shake the injury bug. Did you see where they are trying out Uzomah as a backup to Harris at Long Snapper?

The more you can do the more roster spots you free up.....

Breaking Down The Bengals 2021 Roster After The First Preseason Game

Quote:LS Clark Harris (13), P Kevin Huber (13), K Austin Seibert (3), K Evan McPherson ®, P Drue Chrisman ®

McPherson and Seibert did what they've done in camp. They matched each other twice with two field goals each. Taylor is probably going to give Harris a bit of a break on Friday night and see if a guy like Uzomah can back him up as the snapper. No call made yet on Chrisman as he continues to heal from injury and has yet to work.
