Cincy jungle says Bengals On track to give up 76 sacks, breaking the David Carr record.
Burrow looked a lot like David Carr when he threw three ints and at other times.
There is a huge risk that bengal management is going to turn Burrow into David Carr.
The Bengals were criminally negligent in not investing more money into their o line.
Our center is not healthy, interior of line stinks on pass pro and out backs can’t block
Why did the idiot Taylor keep playing with an empty backfield when it obviously was not working.

He won't survive 76 sacks!
Even with Watt out next week, I see the Pittsburgh Thugs doing whatever it takes to put JB, worse case, on a stretcher, best case, on the sidelines, EVEN if it costs them flags, fines, ejections or suspensions!

We're still giving up a ton of sacks this year?
The training, nutrition, medicine, fitness, playbooks and rules evolve. The athlete does not.

Yeah, it’s pretty idiotic. The way they passed every down last year was pathetic as well. I get it when we were still in playoff contention—but the last couple games with Burrow we should have protected him better. Now we’re playing ultra conservative in an attempt not to get him injured. It’s such a reactive —instead of proactive—way of doing things. Protect your players and put them in a position to succeed. Any winning head coach would say you protect your qb with the running game. You don’t have him throw 40 times a game when you have already been eliminated from the playoffs (and have a garbage offensive line).
They’ve acted like everything is hunky dory with the offensive line the past 3 years. It’s not. They did invest a few draft picks (finally) this year. But they haven’t invested much money into the position. If you’re not going to sign bates, sign a damn lineman.
Why get rid of Bernard? He helped so much in pass pro. Go 4 or 3 wide with
Bernard and we have a legit extra blocker. Right now we can’t trust any of our backs in protection. It’s pathetic. The play calling isn’t helping either. Use extra tight ends in protection. Call a balanced game. This ‘shell offense’ isn’t going to work. Gotta mix up what you’re doing. Seeing Burrow get hurt was the worst thing this organization has done so us fans. We all saw it coming. It’s beyond frustrating.

We did a very poor job protecting Joe especially on a lot of those empty sets today. Zac kept doing it though. Something has to give. We cant let Burrow keep getting pounded like that. At least two of his 3 INTs DLmen were right in his face. He was sacked 4 times and hit 9, and had a bunch more close calls with the walls closing in. It has to stop.

Nicely done...but seriously folks, Burrow is dropping back a lot less thus far and he's still getting sacked like mad.

We said it last year, and we see it again this year. Burrow isn't going to make it through the year at this pace.

Yeah the line still having some of the miscommunication sacks and we need to clean them up. Also in the 1st drive in the 3rd qtr there was a play with burrow in shotgun with an empty backfield and Jonah and Spain just immediately let there guys thru and Jonah began to head down field and Burrow acted like he was about to take off running but Mack beat XSF on a stunt and got a sack. Did anyone else notice this play? Was it a designed QB run?

Both of you are absolutely correct — but wait; there’s more!
If defensive players can consistently sack a quarterback they can often use the same methods to get to running backs behind the line of scrimmage. Both run blocking and pass blocking ARE better but they still aren’t even close to being adequate.

Turned out an already aggressively mediocre C coming off a Week 17 ACL tear wasn't a good plan. Neither was 2 RBs who aren't particularly good blockers being the only two options.
It's been something like...
Hopkins: 2
Mixon: 1
Perine: 1
Reiff: 1
Jonah: 1
Sample: 1 (But really the OC's fault.)
Burrow: 1 (Today he ran right into a defender.)
Free Blitzer: 1 (OC/Burrow mix?)
...according to my admittedly extremely rough mental count. Imagine how much better we'd all be feeling if they had addressed C and pass-blocking RB like they probably should have instead of those 4 sacks they have given up. Do we freak out about 5 sacks in 2 games, with one of them being Burrow running into a DL for some weird reason and another being Sample put against a 13.5 sack DE 1-on-1? Those seem like easier fixes rather than blatant offensive flaws.

If only we had skills players who could get out quick enough so we didn't get the QB sacked.

Yeah, tied for 21st in pass attempts...tied for 2nd in sacks allowed. Needless to say, that's a problem.

There's a lot of issues. Joe's pressing too hard to try and make big plays all the time instead of taking what's there. Backs can't block anyone. The OL still doesn't seem to know who to block. Hopkins doesn't look 100% and was only a mediocre starter when he was.

Leave it to this organization to sacrifice a potentially great QB to the slaughter-house and not even attempt to remedy it. Everyone in the country recognizes the OL problem, except for Bengal coaches and mngt. Pathetic.
All the pundits that said Cincinnati will destroy Burrow were right. Just a fact.
If Barry Sanders was a QB, even he couldn’t avoid getting sacked w this OL.

Everyone said it going in to the draft and they take a WR, with very talented young O-Lineman there for the taking. Chase is going to be great, but they needed protection on the line. A good O-Line equals a good team this team will struggle all year long.

I don't disagree, but Burrow seems like he wants to spend more time standing back in the pocket waiting for long pass plays to develop. That seems pretty insane, but meh...give Burrow what he wants, I say.
