Darius Hodge claimed on waivers
#1
Darius who was waived yesterday was claimed by the Miami Dolphins. I'm sure the Bengals were hoping to re-sign him to their PS.

They didn't win and we don't beleive

Bad move on our part.  He had skills

One of the teams he put good tape against in the preseason. Go figure.

Not enough skills to get snaps over the starters and primary backups

Which edge rusher on our team would you have cut instead?

I liked him as a developmental guy. His size and speed reminded me of a young Randy Gregory that was a massive bust, but now has developed in to a damn good player.

Best of luck to him.

Not bashing you Racer, but just wanted to point out:

RG: 6'5, 255. 4.64 40, elite EVERYTHING.

https://ras.football/ras-information/?PlayerID=12147

DH: 6'1, 245. 4.73 40, elite explosion.

https://ras.football/ras-information/?PlayerID=19540&pos=LB

The two aren't comparable, IMO and that's why one was a 2nd round pick, from a big program, while the other was an UDFA from a MUCH-smaller program.

Maybe this is the one time we waive a guy and later on really do go... damn but the guy was here for weeks and didn't do enough to get on the field. I liked him just like many others coming out of preseason but the results haven't been there.

The team is in win now mode and they have to get production from the guys on the active roster.

I guess what reminded me of Gregory was his relatively slight frame.  He sure didn't look 245 lbs to me and Gregory came in to the league around 235.  Gregory had tons of off field issues (mostly pot, which is amazing how hard it was punished before) but he worked and developed.  Hodge did have good explosiveness and long arms, which I really like in a DE, but I know he isn't in Gregory's class.

I was just hoping he could develop as Gregory did.
