He was in for a few plays when Vinney went out and was out of there real quick.
My guess is that he did not play his assignment right from the start and Paulie yanked him.
It wasn't just that he had a reputation for practicing poorly and freelancing at TCU. He reportedly has a hard time shedding, choosing to run around his blocks. That causes real problems in a gap control system. Also the word was that he was totally resistant to coaching at TCU. He apparently is doing that again, and he will not see the field until he learns to do what the coaches tell him or we are truly out of alternatives for playing him.
Or... he's just not that good.
