They just interviewed Coach O on ESPN. Great interview... from what I remember these are the bullet points
- What separates the Burrow/Chase combo from everyone else is they both have "The will to be great." He said prior to their Championship season, the two of them spent the summer throwing
Said the point Joe Burrow turned it all around was the brutal blindside hit he took in college. Ed was getting the backup ready to go in and told the OC to send him in. Burrow got up mad and was having none of it.
Said he got to be the good guy, because they could be up 50 points and Burrow would be in the locker room telling the team "We're not good enough in the Red Zone" and they would listen to him.
Told a story of practice where he told everyone that nobody hits Burrow. A linebacker got to practice late, and hit him. Coach also told them no fighting in practice, and a huge fight broke out. After he got done pulling players off the pile, Burrow was at the bottom in the middle of it with that linebacker.
Said everyone had pretty much gone home for the summer before their Championship season. He came into the facility and Moss was in the weight room working. Coach asked him if he wasn't going home and Moss told him no, he was working to have a great season. (man I wish this kid could shake the injury bug)
He hit some other points, but those were the main things. Said the bigger the game, the better Burrow plays.
