Even in the 3rd and 4th grade you can see some of the same attitudes that is still in him today

I hope as a day 1 Bengals fan that everyone realizes what a special person we have as our team leader. I'm 71 years old and I'm praising a kid who could be my grandchild, but I'm more excited about him than anyone the team has ever had on their roster including Kenny, Boomer, and Anthony. I love all those guys, but Joe Cool seems to be special.

I think many of those that said from 2011-2019 "It's not the QB" might start to understand....it's the QB

2017 Eagles
2015 Broncos
2012 Ravens
2011 Giants
2007 Giants
2005 Steelers

all of these teams has poor-average qb play

Ok so you're not one of them.

But of the top of my head you just cited:

Ben Rothlesgerger
Peyton Manning
Eli Manning

In efforts to dispute..It's not the QB

2005 Ben with a 30 passer rating in the superbowl was not an elite quarterback

2015 Osewiler/corpse of Peyton was not elite

Eli was never elite. Guy had a 79 passer rating in 2007

You keep throwing in the word "play". I said; it's about the QB. He's the straw that stirs the drink.

Now nobody can make you think it's the QB. But the feeble examples you provided as outliers to the rule, may lead other to realize it.

That was great. Thanks for posting it, Pally. And an even bigger thanks to that coach Joe had as a little kid for putting him at QB. We know full well had it been left up to him he would have wanted to play LB.

Also in there is the 2012 Ravens, with Joe Flacco at QB.

For those that don’t remember, he had a fantastic run through those playoffs.

4 games…285 yards per game, 11 TDs, 0 INTs, 117.2 passer rating.

So, it was the QB then too.

Some get it

Some don't

For instance the remaining QBs this year are:

Aaron Rodgers
Tom Brady
Matt Stafford (Kyler Murray)
Jimmy G
Pat Mahomes
Ryan Tannehill
Joe Burrow
Josh Allen

Do you hang your hat on the norm or the outlier?

"See it's not the QB because Jimmy G."

no, I get it. Great qb's usually win the super bowl. But there's enough of an outlier to show that an average qb can win the super bowl

Garrapolo was probably the worst QB in the playoffs (aside from Ben, whose team was obviously outclassed), and even he hovers around the middle of the pack.

The only top 10 QB in the league that didn’t make the playoffs is Justin Herbert.
