LA RAMS YOUR SUPER BOWL CHAMPS!!!

Sorry for whatever problems you have at home.  Based on LA, I'd guess poverty with a large helping of violence/crime.

Ok, so, I watched the post game stuff again, interviews on nfl network.
The Rams Safety Weddle, basically says,, you know, during the week, I was telling the people in my circle (friends, family ,I guess) watch, Aaron Donald will finish the game for  us. ( He said something to that effect)

Then they interview coach McVay. He said  last play they were in shot gun. You can hear me on mic, I said watch, Donald probably gets a sack here.

They are telling you it's staged, without telling you.

Watch Bengals #67 on that play, is he even making can effort to stop Donald, get in his way?

Yeah, the covid thing starts and less traveling happens. How convenient to have 2 home super bowls in a row.
And,oh, masks were required yet not a single celebrity is wearing any.

I trust him with my children’s lives. He also regularly spouts about stuff like the NFL being scripted, stolen elections, 9/11 inside jobs, and any other conspiracy type thing. If the belief sounds nutty, he buys it. So I don’t take anything that he says seriously.

Do you even realize what kind of orchestration and coverup it would take to script the entire NFL? You’d need buy in from owners and executives, coaches and players, refs and broadcasters. Do you really think that they could keep that under wraps? How deep does it go? Does it get into college sports? High school? And why would they do it? Ratings? So America certainly loves the home team, superstar team winning…but do you not think that they’d love the massive underdog, heart throb, swagger having, young team more? Just look at who the country was picking to win. They wanted the Bengals in there. They wanted Cincinnati to win that game. Why would the NFL not rig it to please their fans and drive ratings? What kind of ratings go up when you have one team from Boston win 6 Super Bowls over two decades while major markets like Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Houston, San Francisco, Miami, Detroit, Washington, and Los Angeles (until yesterday) go without championships for 30 years?

The scripted NFL theory is just way too easy to refute, but in spite of all logic saying it’s bullshit, and no evidence saying it’s true, people believe it. I just can’t take those people seriously. Sorry.

No, it's not easy to refute. You're just making a contradictory remark. You can hope and deny that it is not rigged. But you can't refute anything.

All you're capable of is "gee, I have no clue how it's done, therefore it can't be. That's not a explanation. Just your belief.

You can't have  2 home super bowl wins in a row unless it's fixed. That's just very simple reality.
No need to wonder. Life is not that magical.

Since the spread moved UP that means most of the early money was being played on the Rams.

I've always gone back and forth about games being rigged, but the last few calls against the Bengals, 55 in particular just threw it to LA or at minimum, absolute minimum changed the ballance of momentum. They were on 3rd down and SUDDENLY out of nowhere there's a holding call and *ding first down just like magic. Truth is Wilson had his man beat and LA were looking at 4th down, but with a multi BILLION dollar stadium and the LA television market on the line? Well,  let's just say that I was wrong about Joe being the walking gold mine for the league.. Now true that Tee got away with the face mask, but that play wasn't a last minute call to tip the scales that couldn't be overcome..the holding call on 55 was that call..

Of course the NFL is scripted. How else do you think a team with a bad OLine made it all the way to the Big Show?

Scripted NO, not completely on the up and up...quite possibly.

I don’t think it is scripted, but it is not my place to tell you what to believe or not.

Will it be scripted when Joe Brrrr wins his first SB? His second?

I mostly just wanted to apologize for the all caps idiot. Sorry someone let him out of his cage, we are mostly nice fans.

If it is scripted(HIGHLY unlikely) or if it's even a little bit rigged(favoring certain teams in certain situations), why are we even willing to buy tickets and watch something that we can't trust is fair? That's a question I will be thinking a lot about between now and September. The last couple of minutes of the SB left a bad taste and a feeling that something may be rotten in Mr. Goodell's League. While I am disenchanted with the quality of the arbiters on the grandest stage of football, I will probably do as you and feed from Goodell's Golden Trough again in September.

Well, there is WWF and people pay big bucks for that entertainment.

Although nobody can truly rule it out, I think it's a simple case of ref screw up. There's been many opinions made on why that call was made against Wilson but the fixed narrative I've only read here and on the good old trusted FB.  But I'll never rule out Vegas buying off a ref to save 18 million bucks in payouts. Again, unlikely but we are people and people love money and do stupid things for it.

One or two more seconds and Chase is in the end zone with the game winning TD.  That being said, and like I said in my last sentence, the reason the game was lost was ultimately on the poor offensive line, but the missed offsides call, IMO, was bigger than the Wilson holding.  Both were terrible calls

I rewatched it and Donald was not offsides on the very last play of the game.
That photo was from the first drive of the game which he was offsides on but was not called.

Sitting around a big table....

Ok so who do we want in the Superbowl this season.
mobster 1....Cincinnati Bengals vs San Francisco 49ers
mobster 2...nay! Bengals vs Packers Rodgers vs Burrows, sure beats Jimmy G
mobster 1....got it, Bengals vs Rams ya know a home team in the game
mobster 3.....the Bengals, who gives a damn about the Bengals?

That isn't happening, nothing is scripted. Has there ever been a player/ref manipulate a point spread, yes that has happened but mostly long ago.

Too many cameras, too much media to be playing that in todays NFL.

You're probably right, HD.  It's just that when there's so much money involved, one never knows if we can trust every single decision maker.  The terrible spot, the not calling obvious offsides, and then the late phantom hold on Wilson.  A former NFL executive tweeted after the call that it definitely wasn't holding.  Bad, bad taste.  If I thought the Bengals would be terrible next season, I wouldn't watch a single NFL game and may not anyway(but probably will end up coming back for more).

Too much money involved to rule out the possibility of a rogue cheater or two.   There are a bazillion cameras in casinos, yet people try to cheat every single day.

I would have liked to see Taylor or Wilson argue the call a little more. Not enough for another flag but enough to make the refs think about what their about to do while they huddle up with the reply showing on the jumbo. You see flags picked up all the time. This should have been one of those times.
