Should I bet the over?
#1
Going to Vegas for the draft and I just saw the 2022 NFL win odds.
They have the Bengals at 9.5
I counted 9 teams with 10 plus as their number.
Not much respect for last year but at least they have a little extra motivation to prove 2021 wasn’t a fluke.

It's a tough schedule no doubt... depends I guess if you think we figure out the Browns and sweeping the Ravens and Steelers was no fluke.

Think we need at least 4 if not 5 wins in the division

For the AFC, I see the Ravens, Browns, Colts, and Titans all have their win total set at 9.5, along with Bengals. In the AFC, the teams with a higher season win-total than the Bengals are the Bills (11.5), Chiefs (10.5), Chargers (10) and Broncos (10).

In the NFC, the Packers, Rams, Cowboys, 49ers, and Bucs all have a win total set at 10 or above.

So, yeah, 9 teams have a higher predicted win total than the Bengals and 4 with the same predicted win total.

I think the Bengals went 12 games this year. A lot of things went their way last year though.

But I think the sports media and other fans don't respect Cincinnati Bengals because of their history. But they will learn this year that the Bengals are for real.

9.5? Yea I’m taking the over. You have to assume the team stays healthy for the most part when betting this stuff

That's one of those bets that I just wouldn't touch...

You think the bengals will go 9-8 in 2022?

It’s possible if the team suffers some key injuries I suppose

It's the NFL. I wouldn't be shocked if the Bengals won the SB next year and I wouldn't be shocked if we missed the playoffs.

Also, he said its 9.5 wins. So that means the Bengals would have to win 10 games.

Right, but if your not willing to bet it, it means that you think the ceiling is 9. I can see the confusion.

Hammer the over. Injuries are always possible, but that applies to every team. On paper this team should clear 9.5 pretty easily. An inferior outfit cleared it last season and then went on a Super Bowl run. Schedule stuff is vastly overrated at this point.

I bet the over last year and made out pretty well. But 6.5 wins vs 9.5 wins is a tough one. I think I might bet the over again because I have faith in Joey Franchise and the new revamped OLine. On the other hand our schedule is ridiculously hard.

I think we can win 12 but it might be smart for us to put money elsewhere.

Neither would I... I think they can definitely hit the over, but I think Vegas set that one just right.
I'm gonna break every record they've got. I'm tellin' you right now. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but it's goin' to get done.

As long as Bengals stay healthy they should reach 10 wins or more easily.

Should have a juggernaut of an offense this season and as long as the defense plays as well it should be a lock.

Injuries is the only thing I see that could stop it from happening even if the Ravens will be much improved, and the Browns will be gunning hard to prove something.

I hate so it but I would probably go under. That being said, I am one of the worst gamblers on this earth. Loving horse racing, I would be rich if betting would include last place finishers. Always, and I mean always, ask me who I think will win and bet the other choice.

Well, only bet what you can afford to lose. Might be worth taking a chance. Vegas knows what they are doing and they seldom get it wrong. 10 wins will be tough.

I'm floored by this and hoping it gets posted on my site of choice soon before it goes to 10. In a 17 game season, in a division that has Trubisky and a likely suspended Watson, I think 10 plus wins is very likely.

And I should have said how jealous I am about going to Vegas for the draft!  Enjoy!  I bet that will be amazing!

One other fun bet to consider is "Super Bowl Matchups".  If they offer it, I picked the Bengals vs. several teams (Rams, Bucs, Cowboys) and a $20 wager paid out huge.

The link now has them at 10 outright. So now it's up to 11 for the over (or I guess 10 and a tie). Don't know if I would do that at +110.

If you are going to do it, you're probably better off simply betting the Bengals win the division (which they could theoretically do at 10 wins like they did in 2021) which is +200.

Heck, according to that link the Bengals Over 10 (+110) has the same payout as the Bengals making the playoffs (+110) and they could make the playoffs with 9 wins with the Bs 7th seed being a thing. So that would be a much better bet too.

(EDIT: Would also put $10-20 on Burrow to win MVP, which is +1200)

Which is true for any team but I'm not betting against Burrow so I'm going with the over. Burrow with a much much better OL.

Last year I bet the Bengals on the Over, AFC North, AFC Championship and the Super Bowl.
This year I will bet $250 on them to win at least 10 games, $100 to win AFC North, $100 to win AFC Championship and $50 to win the Super Bowl.
I think I am also going to bet $250 on Detroit Lions to win more than 6 games, $100 win the NFC North, $100 NFC Championship and $50 to win the Super Bowl. I really like their coach. I also think they played much better than their record. They will get Frank Ragnow back which will give them one of the better Offensive lines plus I think The NFC is very weak.
For those who are interested the Lions play Bears, Packers and Vikings 2x. They play Cowboys, Commanders, Eagles and Giants from the NFC East who are not that good. They also play Seattle, Carolina and Jacksonville who are not that good. They play the AFC East, Patriots, Jets, Bills and Dolphins.
