I'm not saying it wasn't a good move in the end, but being the best in a group of bad players doesn't make someone good, especially when it wasn't even a good season by his standards.

I agree with the other poster above me. I don't view this as a personal attack. Just my two cents, though.
Getting the thread back on topic, yes, good players can still be had right before the season begins. Nelson was a great pick up for us as was Hill. Hell, Adam Jones didn't sign with Cincinnati until May. Even though the frenzy of FA is over, there are still good players to be had.
