I can honestly say I don't wear sunglasses much, if ever. I'm heading out to Vegas for a few though and considering a pair. So, I'm looking for a decent brand name with recommendations. I don't want to make a quick, dumb purchase. A decent pair that will last awhile, maybe with a case. A quick look through Amazon shows costs from as little as 20 bucks up to 500. Quite a variance. Any knowledgeable people out there who sort of know this field with some suggestions, I guess....fifty to a hundred bucks ish...

Having spent 12 years now between California and Colorado, I had to start wearing sunglasses on the regular.  The sun is just way too bright out west where the humidity doesn't add that haze in every day, and I don't really want cataracts someday...

I've gone through a lot of brands, but the past 5-6 years I've only worn Humps Optics glasses.  They're affordable, comfortable, lots of options available and I like their program to donate glasses for each pair purchased.  https://www.humpsoptics.com/  Honestly, after wearing these every single day for years, I just can't even justify spending more than $50 on a pair again.  I've got a brother who swore by Oakleys and another who loves his Ray Bans, but both liked these better after trying them for a day.  They made fun of me for years with this "unknown" brand, but I've been happy.

I used Harley Davison googles. Better at keeping the sand out of your eyes during a sandstorm.

After losing a pair of sunglasses a long time ago, I have purchased cheap ones from the gas station or grocery store for years. I bought a pair of Ray Bans this year with a 50% discount through ID.me. If you’re eligible, I’d recommend ID.me for the discounts.

I wear prescription shades now but many years ago in the age of payphones I lost two pair of nice sunglasses by leaving them on top of a pay phone.

Then one time I found a nice pair of shades laying on top of a payphone. I usually would not take something like that, but I figured the universe owed me a pair.

I have Oakley Gascans with prescription lenses. They block out everything.... including flying dirt at dirt races.

Just remember you can break or lose $100 sunglasses as fast and as easy as $10 sunglasses.

Not sure what your style is but blenders have been gaining popularity the last several years. Reasonably priced and various styles.
