roster update 8/19 Bengals sign OG
#1
He was waived earlier this week by the Steelers. Was previously on Chargers PS in 2020. Played college at Wake Forest. Steelers had him listed as a C/G

Why not sign someone with fringe starting ability at least, we need people who can actually protect the QB not just bodies.

maybe because having just been released from a camp, he is in game shape and can play on Sunday which is unknown about anyone signed off the street like Spain.

Actually right now we need "bodies" on the O-line.

Why do we need bodies? These games are useless. Need to bring in seasoned talent and use some of this time to prep them with the playbook.

Because Carman is out with Covid.

Collins is limited in practice because of his back.

Hill is limited with some sort of injury.

D'anta Smith just returned from injury.

The thing is we aren't quite to the point of people just taking any offer out there. Guys that are fringe starters are still waiting for injuries to step in and get a starting role. You can overcome that if you want to overpay but I don't think we are there yet. If some of those guys are still sitting out there after week 1 they will get signed up because their contracts guarantee if they are on the roster week 1.

Gilliam probably just camp fodder.
It's not a good sign if a dude doesn't even have a draft profile on NFL.com.
Best thing out there seems to be NFL Draft Diamonds, which is really the bottom fringe of prospects most of the time.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

We will have to wait at least till after the Giants game to know how bad our OL woes are...

We needed a body to throw out there for now. I thought Cochran played much better than Prince, Adeniji and even Trey
Hill in the last Preseason game. But there is no doubt that if Volson has a good game against starters he has the inside
track for the starting LG position. Still need to bring in at least 1 vet regardless. Just hard after cuts for us.

We pick 31st, only down side of playing in the SB. Might have to make an offer to somebody, we will see.
