For those who missed these threads last year or otherwise need reminded: please remember that the purpose of these things is not to go full troll, invade other teams' sites, and post all kinds of moronic smack talk BS that makes our entire fanbase look stupid. This is meant only for observing to get a read on what the other side is feeling, and if you feel like joining another board to make comments just do so like an intelligent adult. I am sure you will. Thanks gang.
With that out of the way, we're ready for a new season and so are the fans of every opponent we will face -- especially those of the Pittsburgh religion. A quick browse of these threads shows a recurring theme: other than your typical slew of mad homers, most Steelers fans seem well aware that this game will be a difficult one. It's the Bengals' home opener as the reigning AFC champions, and the roster is loaded with great players on both sides of the ball. They do generally give themselves a puncher's chance though, and I think that is fair. Pittsburgh's defense should be excellent again, they have their own great array of offensive weapons, and should be able to beat teams in any game in which their quarterback(s) play average football. Their makeup this year isn't all that different from the Bengals' last year (albeit with less experience and probably less talent at QB).
It's a tough division game, and I would imagine neither team is taking it lightly.

This is pure gold, especially when you consider how upset people around here were when the Steelers traded up in front of us to draft Devon Bush...
"I dunno. I want to believe but I'm confident the Bengals have properly planned to exploit Devon Bush. They will know where he is and what he's doing on every play. If they need to convert a 3rd down, they're coming to Devon.
That's what I would do. And they have actual professionals planning their strategy. I hope Bush proves me wrong, but I saw nothing in the pre-season that inspired me to believe he will make an impact.
I'll be cheering and hoping - but my sad prediction is the defense will struggle to stop Joe Burrow, and their D-line will overwhelm our O-line with Mitch running for his life or having to dump off quick passes."

Generally the most hopeful Steelers fans seem to hang their hopes on professional pride. The Bengals clearly handled them last year, and their pride demands payback (or at least better play). I think that’s kind of fanspeak and doesn’t have a lot of grounding in real results, but I don’t blame them for the perspective. The Steelers will, at the very least, try to match the Bengals’ intensity and refuse to back down. So it will be Cincinnati’s task to *put* them down. Again. Easier said than done.

I don't watch the Stealers unless they are playing the Bengals. I know Bush struggled last year, but I thought he was injured?

Thanks, Jimmy. These are always fun.
I echo everything JJJ said about avoiding the temptation to troll on their sites. We have a smack forum right here. Keep it classy and just point at the scoreboard at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Notice how the Steelers started going downhill when the refs tightened shit up on all cheapshot plays.

I think your number might be about 25% too low.

I have no idea how good the Steelers are this year. I'm sure their defense is pretty good. Watt is obviously a monster. Cam is always good.
