Zac Taylor is the worst play caller of all time

This wide zone blocking scheme isn’t working with personnel more suited to power schemes. Is the difference between WZ and Power so much and learning curve so steep that it can’t be scrapped and replaced with power at this point? Are we ride-or-die with this blocking scheme until next year if they continue to perform poorly in WZ?

Professional football coaches don’t do these things.

Burrow, Chase, and Higgins had to make some pretty big plays to win some games.
The offense was stagnant for a lot of last year.

Now, we're seeing teams play more Cover 2 to take away the big plays and Taylor isn't adjusting playcalling to have more effective shorter routes.
Receivers aren't getting open quickly enough before defenders are on Burrow.

I feel like quick slants are the way to go.

If consistently successful they would get defenses to stop pinning their ears back and actually have to defend the field. It's a good point, the playbook seems devoid of any passing concepts designed to beat Cover 2 (which exist and are time tested and successful).

Taylor wouldn't even be a good college coach. Seems like a good guy. He makes a great clubhouse cheerleader. That should be his only job- clubhouse cheerleader. He is one of the worst head coaches in the history of the game. The Bengals won in spite of him last season, mostly due to Burrow's leadership. Taylor will cost you a handful of games each season because of his bizarre game mismanagement. Why have someone in the head position who will cost you 3 or 4 games just by himself? Hard to see the light at the end of the Taylor tunnel.
