#1
Sports betting is finally becoming legal in Cincinnati on January 1st and, ironically, Pete Rose is placing the first bet!

Hilarious

Quote:CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Reds legend Pete Rose will have the honor to place the first bet at the Hard Rock Sportsbook on Jan. 1, 2023.

Once sports betting becomes legal in Ohio at 12:01 a.m. on New Year’s Day, Charlie Hustle will make his bet, Hard Rock Casino announced Tuesday.

Rose famously accepted a lifetime ban from baseball in August 1989 for betting on the sport.

So, it’s only fitting to have the Reds great make the ceremonial first bet at the Hard Rock Sportsbook.

He never should have been banned from baseball, so this has to piss off the MLB!

Hilarious

Quote:Numerous Cincinnati sports icons, Anthony Muñoz and Marty Brennaman to name a few, will be on hand for a grand opening event at the casino.

The sportsbook will be located adjacent to the Hard Rock Cafe.

It will include 33 betting kiosks and betting windows.

Along with the indoor practice facility, I think this is another part of the Burrow effect on the franchise and the city because people will place tons of bets on the Bengals/Burrow's seasons and each game!

When we give him and offensive line, Burrow and Chase will win multiple championships!

I love it because now I won't have to get a ride to Indiana to place bets for the season! It will also make for a good place to watch some games when the Bengals aren't on and bet on them!

It's about time!

WHO-DEY!

First Reds game I ever went to was Sept. 11th 1985. Nose bleed red seats in straight away center. 2 rows from top. Soon as Pete broke the record thousands of people left & we ended up in the greens seats yelling at Dave Parker until he waived at us.

Awesome! Here’s a little betting tip for everyone. Once the sports broadcasters, writers, tv talking heads etc. start having confidence in the Bengals….. Bet against them. Nomatter who they play, scrub backups, 3rd stringers, it dosent matter. They will lose bad. If it’s prime time even better. You will be a rich man before ya know it.

I would have won big on them in the Super Bowl if my friend hadn't talked me out of taking the points.

Lost $500 when they covered the spread.

Back when I'd bet regularly through a bookie, whenever they'd start to look good and the talking heads, like you said, would start talking them up, I'd bet big and they wouldn't cover.

Idk. It's kind of jacked up to have a documented chronic gambling addict as the flagship celebrity endorsement for your sports book. Seems more like a cautionary tales than a "come out and have a great time gambling" move.

A gambling addict that had an affair with an underage girl.
