Hopefully, he runs hard when he comes back and then next year he does well behind an improved offensive line.

We would save $7.35M if we cut him after this season.

We would save $10.383M if we cut him before 2024 season.

Oh........ I thought that meant we owe him that if we cut him.......... then hell yes cut him and spend money on the line!

If he were to play the rest of the season like he did last week and help us to a deep playoff run, I wouldn't be opposed to keeping him for another year, but he'd have to ball out the rest of the year.

When he's running hard like last week, like Burrow said, there's not a team that can beat us, but his problem is that he dances around sometimes.

However, it is tough to really judge his play when our line has been so bad.

I'm just wondering if there's even a cheaper replacement that could do any better.

Yep. This is why I cringe when RBs get huge egos. With exception to very few, it ain’t them, it’s the line creating the success.

I'd be 100% on board with us drafting a RB next year in the earlier rounds. I doubt they cut Mixon though.

Kind of sux for RB's though to get their legs and bodies abused so much and kicked to the curb for fresher legs.

Totally agree. I would never take a RB until late in round 2 at the earliest.Build both trenches. One trench stops the other team from scoring and gets you the ball back and the other puts points on the board.

It's good to see both Mixon and Perine having success. I think it reflects how future roster building for the Bengals must recognize there is no need to pay a RB big dollars. Once Burrow gets a big contract, money is going to be more tight for roster building. Save money by rotating in new RBs every three to five seasons.

Guessing trade him for a late round pick would be the way if they could find a willing partner.

Leveon Bell with the Steelers knew that they were not paying him enough, however, he miscalculated and took a year off before flopping with the Jets and Ravens.

Which is basically one solid-or-better starter at another position.
Bengals have shown they're (much) better at drafting offensive weapons compared to the trenches.
Use money saved from Mixon to sign an upgrade on the OL/DL and then you can look to draft a RB in Rd 3-4.
