Ignore function

The ignore function here is beyond useless. I’m literally getting notifications that the person I have on ignore is quoting me. Not to mention all of their posts become visible when someone else replies to them. Is there really not a way to improve the settings for this at all? I know for a fact I’m not the only one getting frustrated by this.
