NFL Draft Hot Takes
#41
Well, I successfully identified bad takes, except for my own.

We didn't trade down & Rodgers was a Jet days before. Still no Jonah trade, though. Gotta happen today if it is gonna.

Still think CB or TE much more likely than OT in Rd 2. Guys I'd take at 60 if there, and be thrilled with:

A. Day 2, Round 2, Tier 1: The Finest Fifteen (eat your heart out, Peter King)

CB: Porter, Brents, C. Smith
TE: Mayer, Washington, Kraft, LaPorta
OT: D. Jones, Bergeron, Mauch (OG)
OG: Torrence, Avila
WR: Hyatt, Mingo
DT: Benton
-------------------------

B. Round 2, Tier 2: Not thrilled, but happy (5):

TE: Musgrave
CB: Turner, Stevenson
OC: Schmitz, Tippman
------------

That's 20 guys, I need 7 more who go whom I want to avoid or I think just don't fit our scheme, or the roster is just full up at their spot, or it is just too early for, or I think similar players are available later.

C. Round 2, Tier 3: Thanks, But No Thanks (12)

QB: Levis, Hooker (too early for QB2)
LB: Sanders, Simpson (fine players, but not in LB market)
S: Branch, Johnson, S. Brown (not in S market this early, or maybe at all)
DE: Tuipulotu, White, Foskey, Hall (already picked a DE)
OLB: Ojulari (scheme)

That is 12. If ALL these guys go, or other guys at QB, LB, S, DE, and OLB, on if my Fine Fifteen is guaranteed. 7 gets me to Tier 2. Of course, then there are in between guys. I would get the selection, I wouldn't HATE it, but I'd prefer one of my 15/5 gyys.
------------

D. Round 2, Tier 4: If I must, then OK, it can still work out well... (8).

DT/NT: Adebewore (at DT, not DE), Ika (smidge early)
CB: Ringo
RB: Charbonet, Achane (Evans replacement)
WR: Downs, Tillman, Scott

That's 28. In the unlikely event NONE of my, "Thanks, but no thanks" crew go, here's who I'd consider at #60. Not hard NOs, but I am not excited, happy, or satisfied. Meh.
---------------------------

That is 15 + 5 + 12 + 8 = 40. I need 21 more to get to 92. I will re-asjust after Rd. 2. But, aside from guys who are already mentioned, some Rd 3 targets for me. Of course, if we take a guy at that position in Rd 2, take them off. Not gonna double dip that quick.

CB: Moss, Trice, Rush
RB: Miller, Spears
DT: Pickens
WR: Reed, Mims, Dell
TE: Strange, Schoonmaker
OT: Freeland
OG: Zavala

That is a quick 13. More later.

If Mayer passes Dallas, he goes to KC.

Only one TE goes in 1.

We go D in at least 2 of the first 3 rounds.

We cave and trade away JW to ensure we get some value from that roster slot this year, even if we don't get Wright or D. Jones.

Finally, we get a Volson type to start at RT or at least compete with JC for it (Colby Soradal, Nick Salvideri). I would say Wanya Morris but he's not a small school talent.

Hey well done here.

No coincidence this was from a Bills forum after they had just drafted Allen and his sub 60% completion rate. (typical copium thread LOL)

Brett Favre 52.4% Southern Miss. 1990
Mark Brunell 52.0% Washington 1993
Drew Bledsoe 54.3% Washington State 1993
Jake Delhomme 52.6% Louisiana 1997
Josh McCown 51.2% SMU 2002
Derek Anderson 50.7% Oregon State 2005

Looks like the Colts think they've drafted Brett Farve.....only looked at the first name on the list I suppose.

Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: 3-5 so far. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!
