UDFA Thread-2023
#1
Now that the official draft is almost over, it is time to begin to look forward to the 8th round...the UDFA's. The team has 69 players under contract, 8 draft picks, so can sign 13 UDFAs to meet the pre-season roster max of 90 I would think we should see several TE's among that group, unless Zac really does hates them.

reported signees

G Jaxson Kirkland-Washington
S Larry Brooks-Tulane
LB Shaka Heyward-Duke (Cam Heyward's cousin)
RB Jacob Saylors-East Tennessee
RB Calvin Tyler-Utah State
DT Devonnsha Maxwell-Tennessee Chattanooga
WR Shedrick Jackson-Auburn (Bo Jackson's nephew)
TE Christian Trahan-Houston
LB. Jaylen Moody-Alabama

I wouldn't be surprised to see another QB brought into camp as well...even if only to be a camp arm

One day a fellow RedHawk will stick on the roster and excel with the Bengals.

Fun RB pick-up. Has 2300+ yards and 25 TDs over the last two seasons with 6+ YPC. Not a stellar athlete and a smaller guy. He is 5'10 and 195. Ran a 4.62 forty. Production alone is worth a flier.

What happened with Kirkland? I seem to recall him being discussed as a 1st or 2nd round pick as a tackle a draft or so ago. Am I misremembering this?

Looks like he might have been looked at as an early pick back in 2021 but he returned to school after suffering a severe ankle injury and moved inside to play G. Dropped out of the draft completely. NFL.com has him graded as a special teamer/backup.
