They could have gone with Siemian or brought in a different veteran QB other than Browning.
I'm hoping this is mainly growing pains for Browning and he will come along as he plays more games, but he may be who he is.
I'm hoping the same....but Siemien looked really bad in preseason, and he's not even here anymore.
He missed Yoshi wide open, there was a play where Chase was so open, he threw his hand up as he streaked down the field. He had a one on one from the jump and Browning didn't look at him first. Then there was the INT. If he had recognized what was going on, TB was open inside the 5. Three potential TDs lost and one ended in a red zone turnover.

Yup: as many have said, between the ears is more-important than any appendage.
On a completely different note, I last was on here at like 10:00 this morning.
Came on at 2:40ish and had ***15*** notifications: I've never had more than 9 at a time must have done something right for once

I agree. Siemian looked worse than I thought he would have, but it's not like Browning blew everyone out of the water.
There were opportunities to bring in someone new in the preseason as we saw how these guys were doing, but the decision was to stay the course.
Now, it could (will) end up being a lost season due to Burrow's injury and not having a good enough replacement.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Browning was a 4.0 student.
My gosh, his first game in the NFL, in the Jungle, against the most hated rival, and it's like people didn't expect him to have jitters. Again, I'm going to give him a game or two before I pass judgement. But that's just me.

The problem is the running game, the bengals have finished 24th, 23rd, 29th and now 32nd in rushing. I wonder why we pass so often, and need a QB that can read defenses like a psychic. No wonder out backup QB’s aren’t up to par.
Why don’t we fix the run game and save Burrow from getting killed, and make it easier for a backup QB to come up and get us a win.

Of course, this is where type 2 calls type 3 a liar.....
I mean... Type 3 also said Clyde Edwards- Helaire was the best player he ever played with. What do you make of that? Joe Burrow has played with Nick Bosa, Justin Jefferson, Ja'Marr Chase, Terry McLauren, Denzel Ward, and Sam Hubbard twice.

With a a backup qb there was no reason for them to not run the ball at least 20 times. Between the 3 rbs. The lack of adjustment made to the offense to at least practice running the ball given the season and better protect Browning was worse than even I imagined.

Agree. Who's decision is the question. Siemien can't even play for the Jets. They're starting a FCS QB. If it's FO, not much the coaches could do. If it's theirs, they're obviously culpable. I find the McCarron signing a bit indicative of who's making the calls on backup QB.

If a team is bad at running the ball it does not help to run the ball more.

Fired for gambling? That thing the NFL is constantly trying to convince me to start doing? Weird.

Grambling? I'm not going to google that, but I assume it is either a low-level Dungeons and Dragons monster from the 2nd edition Monster Manual or it is slang for a granny who gambles.
The local casino is full of widowed pensioners blowing all their money on Golden Girls themed slot machines...you could say grambling is keeping that place afloat.

True, but the team should try to find a way to run the ball effectively.
On their previous teams, these vet FA OL were better at run blocking than they are here.
That gives me strong belief it's the scheme.
Mixon isn't elite, but he's not absolutely terrible either.
He just isn't quite springy enough to make something out of nothing, and the OL is giving him practically nothing.
