Anyone Heard About Dalton's Injury?
#1
In the cast, but they haven't said broken or anything, just injured, which means it could just be a sprain or something, which wouldn't be horrible.

Has anyone heard anything about it?

The only positive I can see, as I said in the other thread...he's on the sideline, appears in good spirits.

If I was told me best season and a legit shot at a title was over...not sure I would be acting that way right away.

Yea, he hurt his finger. The good news is he was last seen smiling and laughing on the sidelines. ?

Every time they show him he seems to be resting his chin on his injured thumb for some reason.

Marvin Lewis says Dalton out “for a bit.” Definitely out next week. On timeline: “I can’t heal bones.”

It's broke. Dalton confirmed. 4-6 weeks, but will know more after surgery.

Where did you see that?

CBS froze during Dalton's presser.  But before he said "I hurt my thumb" and after said "I'll see a specialist tomorrow for another opinion" but I never heard the words broken or surgery, nor any timeline between his and Marvin's press conferences.

Very sorry about this. I'm POed. I really liked the Bengals chances going all the way in the AFC. I hope and pray for fast healing.

Post game in the lockerroom. Interview with Dalton and Marv (not in front of national tv) told the whole story. Surgery to get screws put in likely today. Marvin "We've been lucky to have Dalton available. Will have to work with new QB going forward". He told Lap so much more than what he told national tv audience. Understandably.

Yeah, the names mentioned Ryan Mallett and Christian Ponder?

I mean, why would you bring a malcontent like Mallett in?

News likely soon that surgery (screws inserted) was complete and success. Should be ready for camp.

Now this is just my guess, but yesterday Lap and Dalton made it sound like that was what the visit was for today (surgery). Marv in coach talk probably didn't want to say it, but the news today will bring everything to light.

Nowhere can I find anything stating a need for surgery or inserting screws.  The least speculative thing I can find states:

Dalton suffered a fractured right thumb during Sunday’s loss to the Steelers. Though the source said there’s some level of optimism that the trip to the specialist will reveal a four-week timetable, the Bengals know the timing of the injury and the calendar make it more likely that he won’t play again until next season.  -PFT

Andy Dalton’s visit to a specialist is set for Monday afternoon, a league source told PFT, and after the appointment the Bengals and Dalton believe they’ll have a better idea if Dalton has a chance to return in four weeks or if the Bengals will have to shut him down for the season.  -PFT

Again, everyone needs to stop speculating and await the actual word of the doctors who look at the injury.  There's been nothing but WebMD diagnosis' ranging from IR to career ending.

If it is a 4 week injury, he could return for the divisional round, so a gameplan that defeats the Broncos to get a bye would still allow him to return.
