question about post 6/1 cuts

If someone was cut today with a post 6/1 designation, can no one sign that guy until June 1st, or does it just mean that the team doing the cutting gets the salary cap benefit as if the cut happened after June 1st, but the player is available to sign now?

A player released with a post June designation can be signed by another team. It's like a way of doing a player a favor that also helps the team. Basically saying we were going to cut you anyway but instead of waiting until June for some savings we are doing it now so you can find a new team.   A team can only make 2 post June designations a year.

Thank you. Now will the player still count towards the cutting team's 90 man offseason roster limit, meaning one fewer UDFA signed after the draft? I guess it's not that big of a deal, but I just started wondering about that, too.
