Packers don't really have a choice. He is coming off a very strong season and his rookie contract is finished. You can let him play through his 5h year option but then he gets more expensive if you want to keep him. It's the nature of the QB market.

I agree, but he had a very solid season and was pitching a bit of a fit for a new deal. I don't see how he's worth tied for the most thought, never liked the thought of I'm above average so I need to set the market at half of the positions.
