Yes, the Bengals spent a ton on certain positions as a whole, but Bengals aren't paying a Top-5 AAV for any player at a position other than Burrow. OBJ is the 24th highest paid OT based on AAV. Cappa 21st highest paid OG. Karras 11th highest OC. Hendrickson 8th highest DE. Rankins 19th highest DT. Wilson 27th highest LB. Geno Stone 18th highest SAF. One could easily argue it's the Bengals being smart with their $$, but someone else may argue rather than get two dudes in the 20s, why not get THAT DUDE who is a Top Tier dude and paid like it. Honestly, for what the Bengals were paying that DL last year, they underperformed. Same with the OL. But outside of Hendrickson and Burrow, they aren't paying for even Top 10.

They're only going to recognize stars. Bengals have a really good team, but how many of the players outside of Burrow, Chase, and Higgins would the outsider NFL fan be able to name? Bengals roster has some underrated guys that just aren't big names. 2) Even if they have a good team on the field, it doesn't change the fact some see the ownership as cheap. Even if they did pay top dollar for some premier talent, some things like stadium quality are considered toward the bottom for NFL. For example, New York Times listed Paycor Stadium 27th out of 30 stadiums in the NFL. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/4783340/2023/08/21/nfl-stadium-rankings-all-30-nfl-venues-from-best-to-worst/ Quote:The 23-year-old stadium cracked the bottom five on 13 ballots, finishing in the same spot as 2020. Quality of the team and a franchise's frugality are not the same thing.

It seems you drifting from your assumption that is takes top ten players in good amount of positions to be SB roster and I would argue depth is very important to success as a team and too much money invested in 5 to 7 positions could hinder a team success. Also what teams actually have top ten rated players at more than 5 or more positions. I think it is apples to oranges to compare owners and teams, just a handful of nfl teams wealth is tied to the team. Of course Browns, Halas, Wilsony, Bidwells might be less apt to open their pocketbook compared to rich owners who don't have to worry about team revenue as their main source of income. As for age of stadiums, Bengals are 13th oldest stadium and at least 4 to 5 stadiums older than them have had major renovations.

Also what teams actually have top ten rated players at more than 5 or more positions. SF has a great roster as does Baltimore. Philly does too. The problem I see with the Bengals is Dax Hill and Myles Murphy & Cordell Volson. Your first rounders can’t be still backups in their second year. You need solid starters rookie deals.Volson though not a first rounder needs be better than average. He doesn’t look like someone who will get extended. I’m not saying their drafting has been bad but few home runs. Who has been a huge surprise? Logan Wilson? Sure they’ve hit on sure fires like Joe and Chase. They hit on Tee but he too was essentially a first rounder. I believe they have a top 7 roster. What they lack is a better OL and an another all-pro or two on defense. But their strength is one of the best rosters in players 10-22. Last years team was not very good on defense. The offense got a slow start. If Joe had stayed healthy they might have won a playoff game. SF won’t win a SB nor Philly. I’ve seen a lot of both their QB’s in person in college. Hey are solid managers but not difference makers. But kudos to them for limiting mistakes.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

Team success and cheapness are two separate things.

The people have always made it a very enjoyable experience. As for things to do in the stadium, ehh I couldn't care less. I am there to watch and yell, whatever, the game. I don't need the blinky neon lights or the fastest Wifi available. They have upgraded the concessions spots. So when people complain about the stadium, I am not sure what they are talking about?

Well the team has now done total rip and replacement on the training room and the locker room. The fan facing areas are already slated for refurbishment as we heard earlier this year and the indoor practice facility will soon start building now that they have the land secured. I wonder where the next target for the rip and replace is?

They only recognize the dudes who are Top 5-10 at their position and/or land the mega contracts. Bengals have a good overall roster, but they don't have many high profile, high-paid stars. I thought that was obvious in my previous post(s)? All I was merely trying to say was quite a lot of people online were posting the Bengals ownership was cheap and was trying to provide potential reasons why they might think that. I don't agree with that sentiment, just trying to put myself into their thought process.

I wish I could say for sure everything, but what comes in my own mind are: - Ease of access around the stadium - Acoustics of the stadium - View from the stadium (if outdoors) - Audio/video quality - Quality, access, availability, and cleanliness of the restrooms - Same as above but for concessions, gift shop(s) - Indoor or outdoor - Seat quality and comfort - View from all the seats - Proximity to other things around the city - Parking - Quality of wifi for those who are checking things like fantasy football - Other amenity options that are included. If additional, how much more? And another that isn't exactly part of the stadium but arguably a big part of the experience - quality/capacity of the tailgating surrounding the stadium before/during the game.
