With all of the serviceable depth receivers on the roster, maybe the team should look at trading one for a RB prospect? Chris Evans doesn't appear to be getting any better.
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Yes sir
After Brown and Moss nothing moves the needle much. Which means we're one injury away from being between a rock and a hard place in the RB room. I so wish they would have taken Braelon Allen in the 4th.

I'd have to think Irwin would have some value... reliable WR and could be a 3 on many teams.
Noted for later.

Between Williams and Evans, I'm not sure anyone would be comfortable with either of those two having to come off of the bench for any significant period of time.

4 is a lock and depending on injuries, maybe even 5

We are just not a running team. I wish we were more concerned with being efficient in that regard but we live and die with Burrow no matter what shape he is in.

Collins outplayed both of these backs on Saturday. I don't know much about him but he has a little juice, where the others seemed to offer up their same ole bland brand of performance.

Yes and I don't get it ??
There are many times, places, and game situations where having a decent running game changes EVERYTHING !! And you're a much better team. A much more dangerous team.
We've got a good crop of WR's. And they'd be even more dangerous if the opposing D was a bit more concerned with us running the ball.

If anything it would have been Sutton/Surtain for Higgins and next years first. That still probably doesn’t work on Denver’s end.
They've ponied more for much less. Russell Wilson and Sean Payton.
Their defense is far from being the problem from what I can tell. Why wouldn't they go for an upgrade that solidifies their WR spot?

Some are poo poo'ing the idea of trading a WR for a player at a weaker position, but the Bengals are likely going to need to keep 1 possibly 2 WRs inactive on gamedays.
DL and maybe OL could use some more depth, and I think Trenton Irwin is a prime trade candidate for a guy on another team who maybe hasn't lived up to their hype there. Like a Price-for-Hill thing, only Irwin hasn't been a huge disappointment like Price was.
Irwin showed some receiving chops the past couple years that a team might think he could be a solid WR3/4 guy on their roster with more opportunities.
Not to mention, he's also in a contract year and already turning 29 this December, so he's not someone to think about keeping beyond this year. He's just stopgap insurance for Burton, Iosivas, and Jones.
Also with how Carman performed Saturday, they might need/want another OT.
DT is also not in a good spot (IMO), so that could be a spot to target.
Maybe trade Carman to someone with DT depth to give Carman a change of scenery like Bengals did with Price.
Either way, I do agree it might be worth seeing what one of these depth WRs might be able to fetch because I'd hate to see any of them inactive on gamedays.
They all deserve to be playing somewhere.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.
Sorry for Party Rocking!

Higgins is going to get banged up at some point as he always does, and I feel like the "depth" at WR will suddenly feel much shallower when they actually have to start.
We do this every year with overhyping the quality of our backup WRs. We know them because they wear Bengals uniforms but if they were the exact same caliber of players on another team we'd have never heard of them and we'd laugh at our division rivals for talking about how great their WR depth was because of them.
There's seemingly nobody more popular on a Bengals team than mid-late round WRs who are 5th-8th on the depth chart. We're not going to get anything good for trading our 5th-6th WRs. Charlie Jones and Iosivas combined for 180 yards last year.

Irwin I think would definitely have value because he can play every spot and Return Punts.
I just think he is more valuable to us right now with Charlie Jones hurt.

Eh, I agree on Tee, from his history he will be banged up soon enough and will miss games but as far as Chase, Higgins, Burton, Yoshi,
Irwin, Jones/Hakeem Butler that is as stacked as we have ever been with Burton showing the explosiveness that Boyd never had.
Charlie Jones was hurt all year besides like a couple games where he had a Punt Return for a TD and some big plays against the Stains.
Yoshi had poor hands as a rookie and was afraid of the ball but he was missed on a couple long TD's by Browning and has improved a
ton in catching the ball with his hands and snatching the ball out of the air instead of letting it get to his body. Hakeem Butler was the
best WR in the UFL this year, has great size and hands and makes Armon Binns a joke.

I don't see the trade value of WRs not named Chase or Higgins. I also don't see us keeping more than 6 WRs on the 53 with what I expect will be 5 TEs (unless a TE is stashed in IR/PUP).
One of the concerns I had Saturday was Burton's arm catching instead of going up with the a hand triangle. The same with Lassiter, but consider that water over the dam. Too many contested balls are lost waiting for the ball to come down instead of going up and getting i.

I think we keep 4 but All needs to get some reps, TE room is a battle, Hudson and McLachlan played well last game

It’s only one week… but this thread didn’t age well. As mentioned in thread, tee got banged up. The inexperience showed. Hopefully Higgins gets right and Chase continues to show up and get his legs under him. Also really need Burton to do whatever he needs to do to get on the field on Sundays. This group is deep, but the depth is mostly young and very unproven. Leonard’s post was pretty spot on. M
