Yeah at the time it seemed like maybe just a minor momentum swing when he missed the kick.  Turns out it didn't matter.  That doesn't change that I think something is off with McPherson.  He certainly has not been "money" aside from the money he recently put in his bank account and I don't think it is the holder.

I'm not really trying to bash him too much.  I hope he gets it sorted out because he has been and can be a really good kicker.  I just hope he sorts it out soon.

McPherson won us our 1st playoff game in forever. Then our second. I used to love him, now I have to kill him (G&R).

Seriously though, what's in his head? IMO, Usually, with a FG kicker, its about not thinking and just kicking. Is this coaching? Is it family troubles? I know a guy that can pay a visit if need be. Actually, no I don't. But, I have contacts, in my eyes, ahhh F it!

It's his holder. He doesn't trust him.

No it’s not. His failure to hit long kicks started last year.

Remember when we had the FG kicker Elliot on our team, and opted to keep fat Randy as our FG kicker?
How is that working out?

This management team couldn’t find talent in a strip club.

When did Evan McPherson tell you this?

That’s my point, it’s like having Ray Charles, judge a beauty pageant. Lol

He’s regressed horribly. I don’t have faith in him to make anything anymore.

May need to be cut next year.

Ryan Rehkow is only punting because Mr. “23 yard net with killer hangtime” Robbins was injured. And they blew draft capital on him.

Yet most Bungle fans still think Darrin Simmons is an asset. He’s the 2nd or 3rd worst coach on a staff of ambulatory grapefruits.

Last year he was missing 56 -58 yarders tho. End of half 60 yarders. Not 50-54 yarders (consistently)...

If you look deeper into last year misses.

He hasn't just lost his ability to kick. And if you blame it on "yips" then where did the yips come from?4

The truth is something is off (timing w/ snap/holder, trust. something) and it's lazy to just say he's lost his ability to kick.

Unlike Nugent/Graham (10 or so years of consistent snapper/holder operations) he hasn't had the same operations for more than a season. We shouldn't downplay that.

What does this even mean? Players are not static. They get better and worse all the time. At all positions.

And I have no idea where the yips come from. I’m not a sports psychologist.

Ok, McPherson can't kick no more. Fine.

I just don't think it's that simple.

Whatever it is he needs to figure it out. He’s being paid as a top 5 kicker, and he’s currently 32nd in the league in FG%.

It happens to kickers. It’s a strange position. The yips are real.

Geez, that I was unaware of.  I was under the impression he was just regressing towards the mean, but that isn't so great.  Do we attempt more insane kicks with him than most teams do with their kickers?  Maybe his low % is due to ZT approaching him as money from 55 or so and 75% from 60 to 99 yards or something.

He never really got on the field being placed on the practice squad before the start of the season due to a bad preseason and then claimed by the Eagles.  He's had some not so great seasons as well including that first season in 2017.  I guess one could argue the Bengals messed him up for a bit, who knows.  But someone will probably try to blame it on the future punter and holder Rehkow.   Tongue Ninja

The entire operation is ******.

We need a new LS in the offseason that’s for certain.

McPherson is standing so square (straight) in front of the ball it’s no wonder it’s knuckling when he kicks it.

For the love of god doesn’t he watch the tape or the coaches? Carlson last year for the packers couldn’t hit a cows arse with a banjo he’s now curving his run and kicking smoother and hasn’t missed a thing for the 49ers.

It’s easy simple fixes but ****** if I know if they are actually going to try correct them.
