Meh. He's a big draft name from several years ago, but his ypc has been bad over the last 2 years.

He's probably being looked at as a 3rd down back.  He put up nearly 1k yards receiving his last two years in Tampa.  Plus, he's a good pass blocker, iirc.

Brown, sadly, had big time fumbling issues in college, which is one of the reasons we got him in the 5th.  It seems to be rearing it's ugly head now that his workload has increased.

It was my only concern with Chase Brown for sure.

I like bringing in Fournette, gives us some physicality that we desperately need and he doesn't have bad fumbling issues.

Joe Mixon never fumbled it and never got hurt. Said it when we did this. Another cheap stupid move by the FO. All these little cost savings add up to LOSSES on SUNDAY. And what were we saving for????? We did not even extend Chase. His price is going up and up and up with each game played. Very smart move by the FO once again.

By the way bringing in these washed up losers is not going to impress anyone. Not sure who they are trying to appease with these garbage moves but it won't work and is laughable. Almost embarrassing.

Howdy Hokie. Smirk

Yes, my only concern with moving on from Mixon was Chase Brown had fumbling issues in college and Mixon was extremely secure
with the ball. But Mixon fits that Texans scheme and wouldn't be running that well here. Nice win by the Lions last night, knew they
would come back and beat them lol

What up nate!

So change our stupid scheme to one that works. Never get this. Who else uses our stupid system to be clear? Not Mcvay or any other coaches coming from his tree like Taylor so where did it come from exactly? We should force Burrow to play under center like the rest of the league. You cannot run the ball successfully out of Shotgun the whole game.

Kind of Sick of this excuse.

And yes it is good to see him function in an actual NFL offense. Lol

Well that’s not really true.

2017 - missed 2 games
2018 - missed 2 games
2020- missed 10 games
2022 - missed 3 games

And he’s already missed 3 games this season.

Exactly. That is one season basically out ouft how many??. Take a look at Moss's injury history. Or most other RBS. Missing a few games during an NFL season is nothing. There is a reason Mixon finishes in the top 10 fantasy RBs every single year. He stays on the field.

Well, just as I posted in the Howard thread it's good to see the team trying to improve. Let's hope Duke makes good decisions.

I don't think either of these moves improves the team. Washed up bums - just trying embarrassingly to appease someone. Guessing Burrow or the fans but these are laughable moves IMO. These guys are sitting on the couch in week 11 for a reason.

Not much.  Wink

For sure don't know why we are always in the Shotgun, just sabotages the OL and makes your Offense predictable. I don't think it is
just Zac Taylor is the sad part. I think Joe Burrow loves the Shotgun and is putting this pressure on himself. Wish they would all wake
up and help out the shitty OL and shitty Defense with a running game and play action with more under Center QB play.

Mixon was great at not fumbling and catching the ball out of the backfield but I don't miss his poor vision and trying to be a scat back
running to the edge that I saw again last night where he lost like 10 yards on a play. Khalil Herbert is a much better runner and hopefully
with some snaps in the Offense he will find his way. Love Chase Brown's explosiveness and think he will learn from that fumble where
most RB's would of fumbled. Just get down Brown.

That's not the greatest reasoning to bring in an age 29 RB who has only had >4.0ypc in 2 of his 7 years.

BJGE didn't fumble a single time in 4 years with the Patriots. He fumbled 5 times in 2 years with the Bengals. It doesn't always transfer.

Also Fournette has a lot of catches, but also more than his share of drops, and there's a reason why the Bucs brought Gio in to pass block (even though that ended up not working out health-wise).

Mixon had amazing ball security, but the hurt part is pure revisionist history.

Mixon missed multiple games in 4 of his 7 years here plus games where he played but got hurt and couldn't finish.

With us he had two concussions, a knee, a shin, and 4 ankle/foot injuries (and then got a 5th this year).

Amen.

We've needed a bigger back for years. Fournette can be Perine.

Lol. Nit picking saying he missed 2 games here and there. He's missed less games than any other starter during that time.

Missing a game or 2 is nothing. Give me anyone to compare him to that was a starter. His consistency is awesome.

*Misses 16 games in 7 years, play less than 1/3rd of the game in another half dozen.*

"UNBREAKABLE! NEVER HURT! Ignore all the missed games, that'd just be nitpicking!"

The Lions kicker was playing D2 ball and hasn't missed.

What do we have to lose? We have so many guys who take roster spots but don't contribute save for ST, if at all (T. Williams, Milton, Irwin, C. Jones, McLachlan, Bachie, Njongmeta, Anthony, Anderson) or are just flat out barely PS level (Herbert, Iosivas, D. Sample, Ford, Stueber, Ossai, Murphy, C. Johnson, Tufele, Newton, Ivey, Stone).

We can easily bump one or two off the roster if needed and not lose anything.
