Has Chase peaked
(11-12-2024, 07:36 PM)TheLeonardLeap Wrote: Chase is on an absolutely rampage and I am all for tooting the horn on how great he is, but come on now, need to keep it close to reality....

If Chase keeps up his current season's pace and then never gets hurt again while averaging 1,700 yard/15 TD seasons EACH OF THE NEXT TEN YEARS (through his age 34 season) he would still be shy of Jerry Rice's career yardage and TDs total.

The difference between Jerry Rice and the all-time #2 career receiving yards and #2 career receiving TDs is a larger number than Chase currently has for either in his career right now.

(Chase has been the best WR in the NFL this year, but his current ypg is just 0.6 higher than Justin Jefferson's career average ypg. Smoking him in TDs though, but getting smoked in wins.)
I never said the GOAT just a GOAT.   ThumbsUp Bengals GOAT isn't Jerry Rice level GOAT.   Hilarious

Edit: Also, my reply wasn't meant as serious conversation to the OP. Chase is a stud and there isn't much debate to be had about his talent. There is no need to raise a question about whether he has peaked because he continues to produce. So if he has peaked, who cares because he's elite.

ESPN made a joke during Jeff Saturday's bro of the week segment. He picked Chase and they noted it was the first time Saturday picked a player in a losing game. The other dude then basically says Chase isn't losing this offseason because he's about to get paid.

Dude deserves it.

Mind blowing.  Shocked

Also heard that Chase broke a 61 year old record for the most yards and TD's in 2 games against the same team in a season against those Rats.

Any one else concerned we won’t be able to afford him? They will probably FT twice. Only the bengals could mess this up.

Chase deserves top dollar. It's wild Burrow + Chase could equal we are a powerhouse, but when it is Brown Family + Duke + Zac + Burrow + Chase, well, the conversation gets more complex about whether the team can sustain success and get over the hump by winning a Super Bowl.

Cheers to maybe improved drafts and more FA signings that pay off big like when they signed Trey.

Yes, we will have to hit on Free Agents and in the Draft after we pay Chase top dollar. More research into evaluating Free Agents will be
essential as well as pulling the trigger on the good ones somewhat early like we did when we brought in Trey, DJ, Hilton, Chido etc.

With the Draft we need to bring in more scouts. After hearing about how Duke got his job I don't think he is going anywhere so have to
work around him, same with Zac most likely.
