Why doesn't anyone blame Ja'Marr Chase for our bad start?
Just asking, NE game the D did well, Held NE to 16 points (one FG coming on a 7-yard drive). Chase goes for 62 yards and 0 TDs.
The next week against KC we lose on a questionable PI call. Chase goes for 35 yards and 0 TDs
Is it possible we got off to a poor start because our star WR sat out PS?
Nah......It's Zac, because...

Or the defenses sold out against Ja'Marr because we didn't have Tee and Zac can't gameplan around the defenses selling out against Chase

He also had that stupid penalty vs KC that killed a drive and we had to settle for 3. 7 could have iced it, IIRC? Or KC would have needed 7 late. And a red zone drop vs NE.
I think it was more the contract issue that messed him up early. He has said as much, basically.
But he's been the best WR in the league weeks 3-16. Burrow had made some costly mistakes this year (fumble returned for TD vs KC, deep pick on drive that could have iced Ravens1), but he's been si darn good behind a mediocre line no one is gonna blame Burrow.
ZTs preseason routine is crap.We are 1-11 in his 6 years the first 2 games. If he does the same thing again and we start 0-2, he should be fired Week 3.
But Burrow and Chase, despite being mostly brilliant, have made some big mistakes in big games, too.
The team in general is like an automatic car: no clutch.

Ok, just checking to see if anyone thought JC being rusty against NE and KC hurt, Apparently not. It's because Zac couldn't get him open

Yeah it's too bad that Chase has to have a good game for us to win. There's definitely no one else that can make any plays if Chase gets doubled (which, btw is what everyone on the team said after those games why he didn't perform)

Oh, there's no doubt that JC has established himself as the best WR in the NFL and is having an all-time great season.
I just wonder if he had a regular PS could he have made a difference in the NE/KC games.
I have enough faith in his skill that he could have; others may not.

Zac Taylor is 1-11 in the first two weeks of the season, but sure, it’s Chase’s fault for the slow start this year.

I'll take that as another no. JC skipping TC had nothing to do w/ the slow start.
There's a famous saying about stats (such as this 1-11):
Many use them like a drunk uses a light pole. More for support than illumination.

Yet you literally used Chase’s stats in your post.
Personally I think the 14 missed tackles, fumbles on the goal line and punt return, and giving up 170 yards rushing, had more to do with the NE loss than Chase only going 6 for 62 yards. But hey.
As for the KC game it’s almost like Chase has completely embarrassed Spags on multiple occasions and he finally learned his lesson.
Here’s another old saying btw:
And Zac’s early season record speaks for itself.

Who knows, Epps might have mailed it in. He did punt today on 4th and 2 while trailing w/ 7ish minutes left.
Ask yourself: If given a choice would you want to play the Texans or the Chargers in the 1st RD

That's what I saw, too. I was trying to figure out how the Chargers with 10 wins had less of a chance to make the playoffs than the 9 win Broncos.

they can just put the colts dolphins and bengals on ice now. winning out doesn't matter since the broncos won't be losing out. thank for playing.

I think it is a combo of reasons but from my perspective the distraction in preseason and what looked like not full speed type effort from Chase did hurt the offense, the irony is our offense only avg. 272 total yards and 16 points those two game to two games when our defense was at least average ( we kept KC under 300 and 7 points were result of fumble return).
