Bengals Win Out + Broncos & Colts go 2-3, Dolphins go 3-2 & WE'RE IN!!!
#21
Bengals play the 3-10 Titans and the 3-10 Browns next. I warn everybody, I'm going to bump this thread back to the top in weeks ahead if Bengals get on a winning streak and some teams ahead of them fall backwards. If Bengals climb to 7-8, which is very possible, the play-off picture could look more possible at that point, with 2 games left.

Only realistic shot with us winning out would be for Steelers to beat Chiefs so they are playing for homefield week 18 against Broncos or Colts to beat Broncos but lose rest

One of the Broncos, Ravens, and Chargers would need to lose out

That about sums it up as the only likely scenario I see.

Not true. I’m assuming chargers and ravens don’t fall flat, so we are likely looking at Denver as they have a hard final stretch against 4 decent to good teams (bengals and colts decent, chargers and chiefs good).

You actually want broncos to win this week versus colts. Then broncos lose out to bengals, chargers and chiefs. You would need the chiefs to drop a game to ensure they the final week matters and buffalo is still on their tails. In this scenario, bengals are ahead of broncos.

You need the dolphins AND colts to finish worse than 9-8. From what it looks, 9-8 tiebreakers go to dolphins and colts. Colts have a cupcake schedule, so you really would want Denver to beat the colts here and then hopefully colts drop 1 of final 3.

Long story short, it’s not a zero… but it’s as close as it can get.

1) Broncos finish 1-3, with their win against colts, losses against bengals, chiefs and chargers.
2) Colts finish 2-2 or worse. Broncos, jags, titans and giants. Could run the table.
3) Dolphins finish 2-2 or worse. Texans, niners, @browns (this matters), jets.
4) Bengals win out. Titans, browns, broncos and Steelers.

If bengals win on Sunday (titans), they cannot be eliminated from playoffs this week.

On the play-offs they lost to the Johnny Unitas Colts who won the Super Bowl.  So if a 1-6 team can get in, why not a 5-8 team that wins out and goes 9-8....The Defense would have to play much better, but who knows, maybe the Defense will play better down the stretch.

outside of unlikely we can go 4-0 is the division record schedule and other teams schedules.  The team people are sleeping on is Colts, Colts 4 game schedule Denver, Titans Gaints, Jags, I dont see them going 2-2 in that schedule and they would have a 7-5 division record best we can do .  Now lets assume they go 1-3 , now lets move to Denver, we would need Denver to beat Colts, then lose to Chargers, Bengals and Chiefs, possible but odds are Chiefs will not need last game and starters will sit, so likely 2-2 is worse case.. so 10 wins,  now Chargers: Bucs, Broncos, Patriots and Raiders.   i can't see anything worse than 2-2 and if one of those loses is to Denver, not good.

If Colts had a harder schedule and with Broncos playing Chargers and Bengals back to back weeks, and our schedule of Titans, Broncos, Browns, we could go into last week with similar of hope, but I think Colts will lock us out by final week even if we somehow went 3-0

Broncos have to lose 3 of their final 5 games, with one of them being against us.

Remaining Denver Opponents:

1. Chargers
2. Cheifs
3.Colts
4. Bengals

Denver faltering and us winning out gives us the best chance. It could happen, but I wouldn't count on the Bengals beating Ten, Cle, Pitt, AND Denver.

You’re overlooking colts and dolphins. It’s so much more than broncos/bengals, lol. The broncos are in the driver seat, colts riding shotgun. The dolphins are in the backseat and bengals in the trunk. They are along for the ride right now, but not really enjoying the drive. Things could change.

I remember when they added the 7th seed and a few folks in these parts whined that the NFL did that to make sure the Steelers could shamefully limp into the playoffs.

We had to punt because we couldn't convert.
The punt was blocked ( third ST gaff of the day )
A fresh off the sidelines idiot touched a ball, giving us the ball back.
We squeaked by another losing record team, headed by Cooper Rush.
No playoffs

That said, nothing I've seen from this team says win out.

Burrow got hurt against the Cowboys. Our line isn't good. Our defense isn't good.

We basically beat a Cowboys team that is a mirror image of us, but their QB was out.
Burrow got hurt?

I feel the same, if we do go 9-8 I expect us to be on the outside looking in. Just the way it goes being a Bengals fan. Too much has to go our
way for us to get in and nothing goes our way unlike the quiefs where everything goes their way. We are due though so who knows.

Kevin man... I don't want to hate on such a positive guy, but surely even you can see this seems a bit optimistic, seeing us start 'we can sneak in' threads as a 5-8 team who are coming off a 1 game win streak... that win being over another bad team, who were fielding a backup QB. C'mon man.

I could see us winning the next 3 games making week 18 meaningful, Steelers. They might be resting a few players. I just don't see the Colts, Dolphins or Broncos doing their part to help us out.

Me neither, the Broncos are young, have a good Defense and Sean Payton at HC. They could very well win out and it wouldn't surprise me.

Probably, then again he was also cleared to start last year when he was hurt in a manner than turned him into Christian Hackenberg, so who knows.

He put a sleeve on it, he didn't get hurt. He was jumping around after the game with Ja'Marr
