Shannon Sharpe

He brought up 2 devastating points. Point 1 he says Chiefs won SB with 30th ranked defense. Point 2 he says Chiefs line is worse than Bengals at present they 11 -1 we 4-8.

Their Tackles may be of lower quality than the Bengals, but their interior 3 can move people and create openings when needed.

Andy Reid and Zac Taylor. Make your choice.

Chiefs defense (and their fg kicking game) is superior to what the Bengals have. Big difference.

Chiefs kicking:
- Butker making kicks over and over.
- Practice Squad kicker Schrader comes in and makes kicks and game winning kick.
- off the street kicker comes in and makes kick after kick.

It's been an adventure with Mac this year and the defense,,,,, oh boy the defense

Shannon has his years mixed up, I think. The Chiefs have won three Super Bowls with Mahomes.

2019
2022
2023

In those years, their defensive rankings were...

7th
16th
2nd

This is by points allowed. If you want to look at the traditional ranking of yardage allowed, it still doesn't line up.

16th
12th
2nd

My take is even though we have top level offense. Our running game is either mediocre or Taylor refuses to remain committed to it. Even our best 2 seasons we were the "big play" Bengals TOP has never been a thing here. Ive always felt better in the Burrow Zac era when we have a 3rd or 4th and 4 compared to a 3rd or 4th and 1.

Was just about to say this, he flat out is wrong. In fact even Mahomes first year which I think is what Sharp was trying to use where they lost in the conference title game (They were 24th in points and 31st in yards) they were still 6th in turnover differential which is basically what we kind of pulled off in our SB run (bend but find a way to get a turnover).

Bottom line, this defense is an elite level of ineptitude and our close game management by the coaching staff is a killer.

Yessir, I would like to see the Bengals go after Trey Smith in free agency, even if they make him the one "big" pickup this year. He's currently grading 78.6 for the season on PFF, compared to 53 for Alex Cappa. Cappa has really fallen off of the proverbial cliff, he at least mustered 64.9 on the season in '23, but still way behind the 75.9 that Trey Smith recorded in '23.

Hate to say it, but KC has had at least four games swing on a missed officiating call late.  Not to mention that disaster on Friday.

Best part about signging Trey Smith is he brings the mean. You hear guys like Creed Humphrey talking about trying to match the physicality and finishing he brings every snap.

Anybody who follows the draft forum knows how big of a Trey Smith fan I was when he came out. Hell we coulda had him instead of Trey Hill.

Matter of fact there are 2 fine favs available in this year's FA. In 2018 I was a big James Daniels fan, we took Billy Price. JD will be damaged goods coming off an achillies tear, but he did have a 93 PFF rating before going down.

Gimme an interior of Smith-Lee-Daniels next year and I'd be happy

Yep and the quiefs got beat down by Brady and the Bucs when their OL was terrible. Their Defense got good last year and has carried Mahomes
and the Offense, plus they had a good running game with Pacheco last season and that can happen with good interior OL play. Cappa looked shit
yesterday and we got screwed once again by the refs where it was clearly encroachment, but we need to get better IOL play.

Mims didn't look bad, but Orlando was the one who let Herbig make the huge play to hurt us also. Still think our Tackles are decent. Ford was
terrible at LG and a liability as bad as Volson. Just the way it goes with Frank Pollack as our OL coach.

I'm so sick of the Chefs, the only reason they have a winning record is the referees, and everyone besides their fans can see it. The league wants them to 3 peat before Swift's contract with Kelsey is up.

Shannon Sharpe completely talking out of his ass? Imagine that.

Saying the Chiefs Oline is worse than the Bengals Oline is a legitimate crack head take.

I would KILL for an interior OLine of Thuney, Humphrey, Smith.

Morris may be worse than a healthy Brown Jr, but we don't have a healthy Brown Jr.

And I'd be hard pressed to call Taylor worse than Mims. At worst, they're about equal.

We have a poor run blocking line and average at best RB's.

I've watched a decent bit of Chiefs games, and I've never saw their defense get shredded like ours does.

Now part of our issues could be scheme. I really don't know what we try to do out there. We're in zone a lot and not near receivers. It's really hard to say.

The only time I have seen their Defense get shredded has honestly been by us and the Bills. That's it.
