I was just curious if the season disappointment was reflected or if anything was seen that could explain what is going on behind the scenes.

I didn't watch it but I know it was about the pre-season and Joe Burrow bought a Batmobile (one of the Tumblers from the Dark Knight trilogy).

The thing that got me the most was the juxtaposition between Mike Tomlin and Zac Taylor.
Mike Tomlin was EASILY the most impressive coach on that show last night. Comparing him to Taylor was disheartening. ZT comes off as inauthentic, no charisma, a guy that recites leadership books to make him look and sound like a leader. Tomlin couldn't have come off as more opposite of that. The boys are just talkin' ball, babyyyy

There’s a shot going around online of Trey and Chase looking completely disinterested while Zac is talking.

I've been back and fourth on ZT, but man...this dudes leadership is just him repeating lines out of the hottest leadership book he just read. The boys are just talkin' ball, babyyyy

Awesome. Just more proof of the incompetence. Shocking.

I thought it was interesting, the contrasts between teams. Tomlin definitely came off as more intense. You did see a lot of banter and joking between Bengals players. The cuts back-and-forth between teams made for a much more interesting episode than the usual one-team focus, and provide a definite contrast in how the teams approach a game plan. In total it was well worth the watch.

Disappointing reviews on Zac

You can definitely see why they’ve failed to get motivated this season. The guy is a vanilla as they come.

They used to love Zac (supposedly) or were we just sold that he was young and on their level. Has he grown old actin that fast?

Maybe Uzomah loved ZT, and the players loved Uzomah. He was a great motivator. Zac is just a potato that lays on the grocery store floor that everyone ignores as they walk by.

I was not shocked, but kind of surprised when Tomlin was talking about "how F'n dangerous" Joe Burrow was, and his emphasis on stopping "that back" (Chase Brown). I agree he came off as heads and shoulders above Taylor, Stafanski and Hairball. Hairball just, to me, looked like he was going through the motions.
I also noticed that in the defensive coaching meeting with Tomlin, Fitzpatrick was sitting in there with him discussing the game plan. Maybe I missed it or they didn't show it, but I didn't see any of our defense in the coaches meetings. I did have to kind of chuckle when Tomlin was talking about their ends facing Zeus, and said "this is the reason they went and got Zeus" then showed a clip of Williams getting knocked on his azz...

I am going to say this though, as big as a Zac Taylor supporter as I have been since the day he was hired, last night's episode moved me closer to wanting a new HC than 5.5 years of some of you guys bitching about him. He really came off as lost.

We've come a long way from declaring ZT to be an instant leader after seeing his introductory press conference. As Ringo Starr once warbled...love don't last long.

He uses the same platitudes after each loss.
