We have seen way to often in the Marvin Lewis era the classic dead cat bounce and as a result front office would keep everything status quo moving forward.
Do you think this will happen for the remainder of this years game with Zac Taylor and as a result the front office keeping all coaching personnel moving forward in 2025?

This defense is too miserable, I wouldn't bet against any QB playing against Geno Stone, CTB and Josh Newton.

They may very well have a classic DCB at the end of the season, but I don't think that Zac and Lou's fates are tied to it happening or not happening. I feel like Zac is going to stay no matter what, I feel that Lou's future with the Bengals is likely very much in question.

Sure, because the guys need something to use as ammo in their squirt guns. Like when everyone was all wound up when Browning won a few games. Will just hold onto any good to ignore the bad.

Normally I would be concerned, but I think that Cleveland has gotten better and Pittsburgh at home is hateful. No Logan Wilson and no secondary make for easy points even for teams like Dallas.
I had to vote no this time around.

Yeah. The offense has been too good this year for them to fire Zac.
Not saying I wouldn't fire him. I'm saying they won't.

I agree with you about Zac, he's not going anywhere anytime soon. Lou on the other hand I see them bringing him back again if the defense has the slightest of improvement. This front office hates coaching changes. They will let our best players walk away in a heartbeat but the coaching will hang on and on and on....

Taylor is the head coach though and not the OC... Best believe he'd get canned in NY or Philly after a season like this. Having said that I'd be pretty shocked if anybody outside of a position coach or two are shown the door at the end of the year. A lot of coaches have earned it this year, and Zac might not be at the top of that list, but I'd send him packing if it were up to me.

The only offensive coach who's seat that I see may be warm is Pollack. It's still a bad unit despite a ton of FA$ and draft capital being spent. And sticking with Volson for 3-1/2 years is a definite killer.
Defense, honestly, Lou should be gone and a new DC brought in with their own assistants. And it's an easy sell because the offense has been putting up plenty of points, so a new DC means instant hope for next year.

OMG the schedule is so easy but no, I can't see the D coming together at all this year. I think we won't see much of Hubbard, no Wilson, Battle replacing Bell, and a depleted CB corps. On offense Burrow will continue to lead the league in passing attempts because we aren't going to run the ball.
Part of my answer is thinking that winning 3 of 5 will not count as a bounce which would leave us at 7-10.

3? I have trouble seeing them winning 2 more games.

Afraid the DCB will occur and as a result there will be no coaching changes. Why change something if it works, right?
This is so discouraging

If the Stealers and Donkeys need their games, we won't win either. But if they don't and actually pull starters, then maybe we get a few Ws at the end. I still hope we beat the Stains, regardless.

Tough to see them not winning a couple more games just because the offense is so good. Gotta believe they are going to outscore a couple of teams…
Of course I can picture Lou and the Bengals D reading the above statement and saying “hold my beer”.

No. The defense is beyond historically horrible. The Bengals will finish 4-13. While I prefer 9-8 this is out of reach.

If they loose to the Titans they need to leave Lou in Tennessee.

And this is why I stop posting at times, it is embarrassingly futile. Mike Brown and Troy Blackburn are the worst in the league, in my opinion. They have been for a long while. They are cheap when hiring coaches, signing players, adding scouts, and with facilities. We root for a team that is forced to play against better managed and talented NFL teams and terrible refs every week.

I say no. Depends what we consider a bounce. I really think we only win 2 games of our remaining schedule and 1 of them is against Dallas so if we lose that one it could be a lose out. But the higher the picks the better.
