Herbert vs Broncos
#1
Just re-watched the 4th Q and OT (what a thriller).

Dude broke some ankles, used his blockers, made smart cut back decisions and ran WELL IMHO.

Not sure if Chase Brown will be 100% but Herbert looks solid.

Small sample size but IMHO…

Brown > Herbert > Moss

I liked the vision he showed on that pitch play in OT.  It was supposed to go outside, but he saw the D sniffed it out and made a decisive cut .

Yup. Same.

There was a play where he essentially hid behind Tee too. It’s was played nicely.

Herbert's always been a very very good runner

You have to throw Mixon into your < > RB rankings or it’s not a proper JN post!

Edit - I quoted the wrong post (sorry Whacked)

Herbert is explosive. Poor man's Barry Sanders type moves.

That said, he's not a leader back. Doesn't really handle 25 carries a game.

Yes he has. I would be comfortable sending Moss packing, have Brown, Herbert and a rookie as next years backs. Herbert is underrated, and he's a goo returner.

Moss was viewed RB#1, though.

Herbert: 4 runs for 23 yards = 5.8 YPC

Not too shabby; albeit small sample size.

Herbert is a good runner, he has good vision and knows how to make cut backs both better than Chase Brown nothing against Brown.

He is also more solid and harder to tackle. We could most definitely miss Chase Brown's speed even if he does play, he won't be the same with a
high ankle sprain. Still, I like Khalil Herbert much better than Moss as a runner. This was the first time we have got to really see Herbert in stripes
and he played like I thought he would. It has just been Chase Brown has been pretty damn good I think is the reason we haven't seen Herbert.

For 2025 season:
A Herbert-Brown 1-2 punch > Moss-Brown

I wouldn't put Herbert ahead of Chase Brown, but yeah, I would put him ahead of Moss for sure. Moss was supposed to be a good pass protector
and he wasn't even good at that this year. Chase Brown has been better and Herbert made a nice block for Burrow against the Broncos.

Need to add one more RB though, Trayveon offers pretty much nothing except ST's at this point and we need a talented youth at RB, hopefully a
bigger physical back to get the short yardage and punish Defenses late in games when we are up.

I've been married twice and I admit I still had to look up what that meant.  You kids here keep me young.

I wouldn't say that one is better or worse than the other, they just have different styles. Brown is good at exploding through the crease and getting to top speed in 3 steps, Herbert has nice vision and can execute a cutback really well. Herbert might have a slight edge in Goal Line effectiveness. Personally, I like that they have different running styles, as that is exactly what you want in a change of pace back, someone with a different rhythm than your primary back.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

I'm afraid to look that up. I don't want it in my search history.
