Mike Gesicki has become a dude in Cincy. Even with the up year he will likely still be inexpensive though. Other than the Bengals how many teams can use a TE that can't block? Lol

But he still didn't make every single tackle.

In terms of our own FA's I'd like back:

1. Higgins
------huge gap-----
2. Hilton
3. Gesicki
4. BJ Hill (DT room in shambles)
------gap------
5. Ossai
6. T. Brown (price dependent)
7. ADG
8. Ford
9. Hudson
10. Bell
11. C. Sample

Hard pass on Trent Brown. Dude would come in in relief and get hurt the first game. Cochran is looking like a decent swing tackle at this point.

Also, don’t want to waste a roster spot on Hudson.

The rest I’d probably agree with. Maybe add Herbert.

I'd keep Cochran and possibly re-sign Brown to be the swing tackles, just depends on how the draft figures out.

Don't want Hudson back at all: I've mentioned before he's almost a dead ringer for easily one of the two most-hated people in my life, that has not added anything to my life but misery, so the less I can see his mug, the better.

And I'd add Herbert too: sign to a cheap 1 year deal, draft a backup RB that takes over after next year and we're golden.

Agree, mostly.

Only way I'd take Brown back is on a very friendly contract, heavy on the friendly! But much depends on how the Oline fix shakes? Are they going to cut Cappa? Volson? and so on.

Last I looked we had 5 TE's on roster. Why? No on Hudson

And yes we need something behind Chase Brown besides Moss and other dude.

Not gonna lie, I had already completely forgotten Trent Brown was with us this year until this thread.

Did this Tanner doppelganger steal your girl or something?

My SIL's B/F.

I've been threatened to have my face bashed in twice, killed once (all of these took place when I lived over half a country away for a year and a half and had 0 contact with him) and a laundry list of other bullshit things I've had to deal with.

And he's a Cardinals fan, closet Stoolers fan.

Aside from Gesicki, it was pretty much a bust FA-wise.
I'm not letting Stone's recent stretch of INTs against bad teams/QBs sway my opinion of him.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

Yep. Terrible free agency. And a big part of why they’re currently where they are. Getting absolutely nothing out of a guy making top 5 money on the team was particularly disastrous.

People talk about how some other teams have just about as many injuries as Bengals do, but how are their injuries affecting specific groups?

They have the following starters on IR currently:
Trent Brown
Logan Wilson
Dax Hill
Evan McPherson
Zack Moss

Hubbard and Rankins have missed time.
OBJ has dealt with injuries.
Murphy missed about a month.

Bengals have had to go to their OT4/5 this year at times.
They're down their CB2 and CB4 in Hill and Turner.
They've had to go to their LB3/4 for some games.
They've had to go to their last 1-2 DL spots at times.

If it wasn't for Mims and Brown being able to step up, OT and RB could be worse.
DL and CB have been decimated this year.

Hopefully Pratt will keep it up in the last game against the stealers. We need to tackle much better in this game than the last time we
played them where it was an embarrassment of riches.

Gesicki had how many catches in this one? Really like this guy and want him back. No surprise on Tee even though he had the fumble,
it was a great play by Surtain rather than a bad play by Tee. Tee toughed it out and that was nice to see, hopefully he plays against the
stealers as this is always the question with him.

Good call on Herbert. And I'm not saying I'd want ALL of them, just ranking the guys who played decently at times and a decent volume. I guess I forgot Bachie.

I am not all in on Cochran after 1 good half. But he is signed already. And I'll say again, a backup OL corps of:

OT3: T. Brown (if under $3 mil),
OT4: Cochran (already signed at $960k)
OG3/OT5: Ford (FA at vet min or a touch higher)
OG4: Volson (signed at $1.26 mil)
C2/G5/T6: Lee (signed at $985k)

I'd be OK with that. Again, a small bet on T. Brown as a backup is one I'm willing to make. When healthy, he is better than the others. A day 3 pick for depth could bump someone.

It is the starters that need upgraded at G. One big time FA + #2 as a medium buy FA/Day 2 pick.
