Quote:Thanks to the Lions defeating the 49ers on “Monday Night Football,” the Bengals’ schedule of opponents for the 2025 season is officially locked in. Why was Monday’s game the final piece of the puzzle? It’s because the Bengals are scheduled to host the same-place finisher in the NFC West as their “17th game” next season. The Bengals are assured of finishing in third place in the AFC North, so it was a matter of who finished third in the NFC West, AFC South and AFC West — the Bengals will play every team in the AFC East and NFC North next season.

Also Happy New Year everyone!   :)

Looks like a very tough schedule, with a mixture of very good teams (Detroit, Buffalo, Green Bay, Minnesota) and teams that will be ascending (Dolphins, Bears, Jaguars, etc.).

We have 9 home games. And of the 6 outside the division, only the Lions scare me.

Confident in Ws at home: Pats, Jets, Bears, Jags, Cardinals, Browns.

The road is brutal, though.

Those 3 teams from the NFCN though, currently sitting at 39 accumulated wins, with all 3 firmly in the playoffs, on top of the 6 brutal slugfests that are our divisional games, not to mention having Buffalo and Miami on the schedule. You just hope that you don't play Miami early, before the weather turns, they might put up 70 on our current secondary.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Curious if we get the game in Spain or Germany.

Hopefully the NFCN teams spread the pain to Pitt and Baltimore as well.

I don't want an overseas game. I'm tired of us getting gypped out of our home field advantage.

Also it feels strange not to be playing the Chiefs.

You just don;t know year to year, for example Jags, Dolphins, and Bears are descending vs ascending from two to three years ago.  This year we thought Washington would be a bit of a cake walk at home and we lost.   On paper the NFC North does look tough but AFC East outside of Bills, nope...  and the home games out of division really look very winnerable on paper for next year

The home schedule looks great for the Bengals minus the Lions game. I suppose we should watch out for the dangerous Pats.  Hilarious

NFC North/AFC East is just ***** brutal. Some bad/mid teams this year that could improve YOY. Not really any games we can sleep on.

Looks like that game in Minny is going to be a SB rematch.  Cool

Yeah, we are going to need a better defense.

Common opponents our division play will be against a tough NFCN and a projected weak AFCE. If we can go 4-4 in those games, go 3-3 within the division, beat Arizona, Jax and Denver, we are 10-7.

Due to FA, teams can change a lot for the better or worse. For example, the Vikings will have to pay FA QB Darnold like 42 to 45 million in 2025. Will that trigger cuts, it may or hinder their ability to sign FA's or keep their own FA's.

The Steelers do not a have a starting or backup QB on the 2025 roster.

The Ravens have some key players becoming FA including 2 OT's, their fullback and others.

We need to revisit this thread during FA and after the draft.

How we build and improve our roster is the key to competing within the AFCN and against the NFCN.

2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

Only want it if we are the “road” team. Sick of us losing a home game for this crap.

Next year will not be the 2024 version of those NFCN teams, thus I'm in more of the, "not worried, let's wait and see," camp, then predicting the schedule to be brutal.

Look at our division last year: all 4 of us almost made the playoffs (and if the Chefs game was a W for us, we would've all 4 made the playoffs) and this year? Only Bmore has played up to their standing from last year... and us lol, but we are a worse team than we were last year.

Detroit seems like they will be there again, Minnesota could have Darnold move on, McCarthy be the starter and he ends up being awful, the Bears are the Bears and the Packers are a weather vane, year in, year out.

I'm looking forward to seeing how things play out :)
