It's definitely a dead cat bounce season. Go 9-8, ruin the draft position and win just enough to keep trash Zac and the rest of the staff.

Sucks. But it was even before it was obvious Denver was going win against backups we would've played Buffalo. I think this season was lost when we saw the state of the defense even if we made the playoffs it was going to be rough. Looks like we will be pick 17. So we need to be active in free agency if we don't want to waste next year as well.

Exactly.

Being in realistic playoff contention until the end of the 4:30 pm time frame on the final day of the regular season by winning 5 straight games and resulting in a winning season is not a dead cat bounce.

It's just a season with 1 too many missed opportunities.

New England Patriots, New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders each winning 1 meaningless game after being eliminated to lose the #1 overall pick, on the other hand? Definite dead cat bounces.

I think that some good is going to come from this. I don't think it's going to sit well with our core players that they missed the PO by one game. I think the boys are about to get real hungry come next season, and they won't lose so many early season games. They are all coming into that age of manhood where shit like this doesn't sit well and lights a fire.

Nothing. Nothing will change. Same staff, same small scouting department and lots of excuses.  Poor drafting, poor development and most likely the same record and early exit as this year.  It will be nearly impossible for Joe and Chase and Trey to have the same outstanding seasons they had this year, which are the only reasons the Bengals were in the hunt until today. 

The City of Cincinnati deserve better but Brown thinks he is doing great and he will not change.  

It won't matter who they draft.  So discouraging

That's the question. Burrow making it clear he wants Higgins puts some very real pressure on them. The fact that they were benching Volson during the season shows they see his play is not good enough. We have too many holes to fill in the draft so they need to be active in free agency. 
But I'm not sure what I expect to change. There are no more excuse and our time is now. So hopefully we as fans can stop lying to ourselves and see if this team fails to really go for it we know they don't value winning.

Sorry but this wasnt a dead cat bounce.  This usually applies to winning the last 2 or 3 to finish the season 5-11 or 6-10 after you were already eliminated.

We already know they don't value winning.  They value fans in the stands & that's pretty much it.

and it's very sad man. so tired of it. but like many others here i can't help myself but to root for my bengals. wish they'd get it together and just never expect it. I'm enjoying UK rn as they blew it all up and started over. and man it's working out great.

Nothing. They are probably waxing poetic about the 5 game win streak like fans seem to be. 

There’s only about 8 players with first round grades and even with reaches for QBs none will likely make it to the Bengals now. No help is coming in the draft. In any round. . 

It’s not a great draft to be picking mid. Come April fans will see. Then I wonder how great they feel this streak was. 

More fans actually believed this was a playoff team then I realized. Hard to hope MB and company remembered it wasn’t if fans don’t.
