Bengals At Steelers In Ireland?!
#1
The Steelers are expected to play one of the overseas games next season in Dublin and it's thought that it will be against one of the teams in the division.

Given how Cincinnati is a pretty Irish and German area, it would make sense that we play in the game.

I'm all for it because it takes away home field advantage for them and also gives us a pretty cool game overseas.

My friends and I are already talking about going and maybe my mom and her brothers and sisters will too since their Burkes.

You like the idea, especially against the Steelers?

Here's a link to the story:

Quote:This will be the first regular-season NFL game in Dublin and will take place at Croke Park.
"We are very excited to be the designated team in the first regular season game to be played in Ireland this upcoming season," Steelers' President Art Rooney II said in the announcement.
"The opportunity for the Pittsburgh Steelers to play in Ireland is truly special, not only because of the Rooney family history there, but also to play in front of the growing number of Steelers fans in Ireland. We are thrilled to be part of this historic event to represent Pittsburgh in a game that brings the NFL to the great sports fans in Ireland."
Rooney has family from Newry, County Down, and his father, Daniel M. Rooney, was the United States Ambassador to Ireland from 2009-12.
While the NFL will announce Pittsburgh's opponent in the future, it will be one of the nine teams it is scheduled to host during the 2025 season. The Steelers will face either the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings or Seattle Seahawks.

No chance it's not Green Bay that's my guess.

No overseas games. I’m tired of us being disadvantaged and knowing the league we’d be the “Home” team.

Has NFL ever scheduled two teams from the same division in Europe?

I would be good with it since it takes a home game away from the Steelers.

Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

Not often but they have.

I was hoping they’d be the team to play the Rams out here. I’d finally get to see them live.

I hope so. That sounds like the excuse to take a trip to Ireland that I need.

Bengals don't play the Rams next season.  Well, unless it's a repeat of their previous Super Bowl matchup.  :)

I go to Ireland quite frequently (my parents were born there and I have tons of relatives there) and it freaking pains me that the Steelers are the designated team for Ireland. I was there this past July and will be going again this November for a rugby tournament my son is playing in over there. I hope that the Steelers game isn't that weekend.

The Steelers are the home team wherever they go. Their fan base exists all over the country and even when they are playing away from Pittsburgh the stadiums are filled with Terrible Towel waving lunkheads who still think they are living in the 1970s.

Our daughter in law lives in Ireland so we’d probably take a visit to coincide with that as well. Bit of a UK and European jaunt as well.

Ireland should import a bunch of live Bengal tigers and release them into the wild just to show disdain for Pittsburgh .. Yeah, I know. Kind of extreme isn't it?

Forgot to mention that my mom and her siblings even took a trip over there because their grandparents originally lived over there, so that might be another option if they all want to go back.

I’m more and more hoping that we’re their opponent for the game!

I'd love for an opportunity to go to Ireland... hope it happens.

The Madrid option is nice as well.

I'm a hard no on any overseas games. #1 I don't want to lose a home game, #2 I don't want to lose the team over the North Atlantic because an engine broke. (And yes I realize they fly to most games)

We wouldn't lose a home game because I think I saw where the Steelers are already designated as the home team, but I could be wrong.

I don't think that they can be worse than the Browns, but their late season collapse and uncertainty at quarterback does give me hope.

Knowing their luck though, they'll sign Rogers and he'll somehow be rejuvenated to have one last MVP season.
