What about Xavier Watts? The new DC is already familiar with his game.

I liked the idea of adding a safety with special skills before Emmanwori blew up the combine. I remember the good old days when we had a real good safety and we were going to the Super Bowl and stuff.
Seems to me if you have a good QB who can get you the lead. A good safety and secondary back there helping shut down the comeback attempt is a nice complement. I really hope we pass on Starks. But Emmanwori has freakish talent that would be awesome to have on our team if he can put it all together.

I think both safeties will be solid NFL safeties. Starks may be the less risky pick of the two, but Emmanwori may have the highest celing of the 2. ![]() Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

He was a high level zone defender at both safety spots showing great passing concept recognition and making plays on the ball. He doesn't have Bates speed so he won't make as many plays from post safety to the sideline as Bates did and fast guys can challenge his angles to the outside. Texas S Andrew Mukuba is alot like Jessie Bates guy flies around and just like Bates because he's everywhere his missed tackles stand out. ![]() ![]()

I still don't want to see a ED or IDL in the first round again, so let's trade back, get a safety in rd 1, pick up a pick and then do Ratledge in the 2nd. *sheepish grin* ![]() "The measure of a man's intelligence can be seen in the length of his argument."
