One of the greatest qb,of all time? Burrow isn't anywhere close to that.He may be some day.But not right now.Mahomes, has accomplished, far more than Burrow .

i wonder if anything will get done tonight or early tomorrow morning? It would be nice to know the fate of Trey and Tee by noon tomorrow.

Needs to be settled soon so they know what to do with FA outside of their own.

And the hell of it is (for him) Mayfield is actually a good QB...

It is not so much about being lazy but, at least in theory, letting the player gauge his value. If he goes out and finds no one wants to pay him $35 mil, then you can re-sign him at a lower value. Or no one thinks he is worth s first, etc..
At least that would be the most favorable view of the FO.

I think that plenty of teams would have no issue with paying Hendrickson $35M/per, but do they also want to satisfy what the Bengals want in exchange for that opportunity?

You would think any team looking to acquire Trey would want it wrapped up sooner rather than later so they also what they have, and have to do moving forward in restructures, cuts etc for their own free agency.

I know many don't agree, but unless we are highly compensated, we have Trey under contact for 2025. No need for us to do anything.
Trey will not ait out and lose 1 million a game in my humble opinion.
Some are getting upset over 3 players we have under contract for 2025. We already know their maxium cap hit and have planty of cap to sign FA's early if we choose.
Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

Duke Tobin had to have made one of the all-time stupidest statements regarding signing Chase to a new contract: "He's going to end up being the number one paid non-quarterback in the league."
Why would you even make such a statement? Now you are at the mercy of what other teams do, such as Cleveland with Garrett. There was absolutely no value in making such a statement.
And who were the geniuses that didn't sign Chase and Tee last year? Chase could have been signed for probably 35 million/year last year and Tee maybe for $22 million/year. Now the Bengals are looking at a minimum of 40million/year for Chase and probably over $30 million/year for Higgins.

If the bengals have a chance to get a couple of players that fits our needs and some kinda pick they would be dumb not to take it......Trey has good value....Bergeron Pitts and a pick from the Falcons. Daron Payne Brandon Coleman and a pick from the Commanders. I'm sure their are some others.

Him stating that or not would not change the final result.
Chase deserves to be paid as the highest paid non QB in the league. That's what he and his agent will want. They wont accept less than that.
I'm not bothered by him stating that fact.
I'm bothered by him not locking Chase and Hendrickson up last offseason long-term.
They signed their top player in Burrow. There should have been more urgency to pay Chase (#2 top player) and Trey (#3 top player) as the price always goes up year to year.

I don't think the Garrett contract has anything to do with Chase's contract. I think guaranteed money or him leveraging himself to get Tee signed long term is the issue.

Player for player trades are rare, at least when talking about significant starting players. The last one that the Bengals were involved with was Billy Price for BJ Hill, and while BJ has been a very good player for his time with the Bengals, neither of the two players involved were anywhere near the magnitude of a Trey Hendrickson. Personally, I'd be fine with the players that you proposed, the question is would the Bengals FO be alright with that as fair compensation? I mean they just committed $25M to Gesicki yesterday, pretty much telling him "you're the man" at TE, what would bringing in Pitts at this point do to his psyche?

That is the main issue.

The only NFC East trade I would like to see is Dexter Lawrence for Trey. No picks involved.
If the Giants are willing to play ball, I would thank Trey for his time here and wish him best of luck!

That would be an apples to apples trade, in my book. Though the Giants might want a pick added, as Lawrence is only 27, and they would have to eat a ton of dead cap this year.
