I also remember when we signed Orlando it was frustrating quiet it seemed and then he signed. But also the news broke that he approached us and not the other way round.

I agree. Perhaps I should've stated with big contracts looming we may revert back to those days. I hope not and really can't see them cutting Cappa and not signing a guard. Really we sign Zietler to a deal upgrade and would be a great story.

Yep.

That’s the attitude that got him kicked out of Cincy!

He’s right just hope they have learned or at least feel so pressured by Burrow that they have to do things they don’t want to.

Whereas the two tags, while maybe a bit lower than $60 mill when all is said and done, would be fully guaranteed, plus he could still go sign somewhere for a 1-year or 2-year deal after and get more.

No, it wouldn't. That's what I am trying to tell you.

If he gets a broken back or just absolutely falls off a cliff and produces 0.0 sacks in 17 games in 2025,  we don't tag him and he gets $0 in 2026 and 2027.
If he gets a broken neck or just absolutely falls off a cliff and produces 0.0 sacks in 17 games in 2026, we don't tag him and he gets $0 in 2027.

Fully guaranteed means you get it no matter what the team decides. "We'll probably franchise tag you twice in a row in the future" is a $0 fully guaranteed deal.
