Bengals are nowhere close to deals with Trey, Tee or Ja'Marr
I for one just find it really amusing that they ask high and offer low.

Or, more accurately, they ask insanely high and offer insultingly low.

True. No first round pick is going to get us 17 sacks in a season. Let alone a 2nd round pick. It would have to be a pick and a player for Trey.

I know that sounds ridiculous and that is probably why teams are saying it is, but he is worth a lot right now being the sack leader.

I'm frustrated with them for a lot, but not for asking a lot for Trey.  The only way trading him helps them is if they get something decent in return.  They are a crap ownership group, but they rarely get fleeced in a trade.  I'm fine with that.

I think they should give homeboy a raise, but in reality Trey has no leverage other than retirement.  He only has his agent and himself to blame for the outcome.  He signed the deal and opted to secure an extension over betting on himself.  I want the guy to get his money, but at the end of the day he's going to play or get nothing.

There's zero reason for this team to give him away for peanuts.  I would be pissed if they did.

Completely agree Samhain. They have handled the Trey situation right, almost everything else has been shitty even though I do like the Burkes,
Slaton and Perine grabs. We need a couple Guards and get Ja'Marr extended, inexcusable.

Depends on what you mean by getting fleeced in a trade. They had an offer for what, a second round pick for AJ McCarron and they asked for more and it fell through, so I'd say they really blew that one, for example.  Turning down an entire draft so you can take Akili Smith would have gotten a normal GM ultra-fired, too.

Fleeced?  Ehh no I guess not, but they can afford to miss out on a lot of value because they can't get fired and they're usually negotiating with people who can.  Mike Brown has walked a way from a lot of good offers in his 35 or so years as GM because he can get away with it.  The guy was born into this job, he's never going to have to get fleeced any more than he's ever going to have to scrub a toilet.  He can just say "no go."

No accountability always has been a problem around here no doubt about that.

The fax didn’t make it through on time in the attempted McCarron trade. A painful blunder.

Who knows if this is true but I read that NFL “insider” Josina Anderson tweeted that Chases contract won’t have an injury waiver. No big deal but they seem to think they might be getting close to a deal if they are down to negotiating the smaller details.

This could be garbage but if it’s true that’s a little good news, I guess. At least they are still trying to get the deal done.
